Brian Hebert Prayer Letter: Deputation in the Land o' LakesWe very much appreciate your prayers during this stage of our ministry. We are so grateful for those who not only keep up with us but stay in touch with us too. In May we stayed in the Midwest, presenting our ministry in some great churches. After leaving Northern Michigan, we headed to our next meeting in Wisconsin. Our first meeting was in Milwaukee, at the All Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Peder Methum. It is an inner-city work right in the heart of Milwaukee with a great pastor and a great group of people. On Sunday night I got to preach and present our ministry. We praise God for this good church on the front lines for souls in the needy area of Milwaukee.

Our next opportunity for meetings was in Minnesota. For the most part, we stayed in St. Paul at a very nice prophet’s chamber. St. Paul reminded me of Toronto in its landscape and buildings, but mostly in its people. It is also a very diverse city that has such a great need for good Baptist churches. The first weekend there, we served with Cornerstone Baptist Church in Mahtomedi, Minnesota. Liz and I had a blast going out soul winning and fellowshipping with the Nelson family. Pastor Robert Nelson allowed me to teach the adult Sunday school in the morning, and then I was privileged to present our work and preach in the Sunday evening service. Pastor Nelson’s son Robbie and I were friends already from our college days, so this was a great time all around. Our next meeting was in Minneapolis at the Gospel Light Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Taylor. I was able to present the work and then give a charge for Spirit-filled soul winners. Minneapolis is almost identical to St. Paul in its population diversity, and the church reflected this diversity. For instance, on the night I preached and presented our work, a man who had emigrated from Ukraine was there. I admire Pastor Taylor and the laborers there for working hard in a needy city.

Sadly, our time in the Twin Cities had to end, and we headed to Rochester, Minnesota, to present our work at Midwest Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Caleb Hanson. What impressed me the most about this ministry is the emphasis on discipleship. Pastor Hanson took me visiting with him the Saturday before our meeting. He took me to house after house where the family had been led to Christ a few months ago and was now well into a discipleship course. After our meeting there, we also took some time for a family trip to Walnut Grove, Minnesota, to see the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum. It was an amazing trip. Our last meeting for the month was in Pound, Wisconsin, at the Pioneer Baptist Church with Pastor David Navis. Being in small-town Pound was a relief from a full month of big-city meetings.

Please pray for the cities and towns we visited this month; they need more churches in each place. The Lord’s harvest is lacking everywhere. Also, pray for our support to grow and for us to schedule more meetings. Please pray for our upcoming trip into Canada in July; pray that God would allow us to see souls saved and much accomplished for the work in Toronto.

Thanks to Calvary,

Brian Hebert
