We are pleased to announce the arrival of our 39th grandbaby, Alyvia Rebecca Dale, born on April 30 to our son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Ally Storm. Her three older sisters were so excited when she arrived. Momma and baby are doing fine. Then on Friday, May 3, our granddaughter, Leslie Swartz, graduated from Hyles-Anderson College. We were able to be home for her graduation. It was so good to be back at our First Baptist Church!
In March and April, traveling 2,880 miles, we were able to help 20 churches. We worked with their mechanics on 34 buses, 11 of which were out of service but are now on the road again. In Ohio we prepared 7 buses for their annual State Inspection.
At Lighthouse Baptist Church in Lancaster, Ohio, I had the privilege of preaching in their Christian school and speaking in their Saturday soul-winning and bus workers’ meeting. The bus director, Bro. Carpenter, and I visited on his bus route, and we were blessed to see three parents of bus kids trust Christ. What a joy it must be to the bus kids when they see their parents accept Jesus as their own Saviour! It takes a lot of work and many times a long time to reach the parents, but the rewards are worth all the hard work!
ALL THINGS
In March while I was helping Crossroads Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama, I received the most encouraging note from Helen, the wife of our own Col. Richard MacCormack. He was the head deacon at our First Baptist Church for many years. He and his wife are now with their son, Pastor Doug MacCormack, at Crossroads Baptist Church. After my wife’s injury in January, God gave me the message, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28) Mrs. MacCormack let me know that they have been praying for my wife and our ministry. God is so good to us!
Urgent Prayer Request
Just minutes ago on May 18, 2019, we received word from our daughter in Rwanda, Angela Schoof, that Caleb, their oldest, had to go to the emergency room for the second time in just a week. He is 19 years old and has been having a rapid heartbeat and chest pains.
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers for our ministry and for the urgent requests as well! We want you to know that we do not take them for granted. God has answered so many prayers already. We are so thankful for our friends and loved ones and for our prayer-answering God.
