Luis and Carolina Martinez Prayer Letter: Even Greater Works in 2022Isaiah 9:6 says, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” My family and I would like to wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2022. My prayer is that together we can accomplish greater works for Christ during 2022.

As 2021 is coming to an end, I want to thank the Lord for allowing us the great honor and privilege of serving the people of Puerto Rico. Our goal is always to win more people to Christ and to see them get saved, baptized, added to the church, and discipled.

During the month of November, I was able to meet with the governor of Puerto Rico. We asked him to ease up on some of the COVID-19 restrictions. His response was that he was not going to ease up on the restrictions until the vast majority of Puerto Ricans, especially the children, were vaccinated. We are still required to wear masks indoors, and restaurants and doctors’ offices require vaccinations to enter. The people are living in fear, including Christians, which is sad to say.

Recently while out soul winning, we knocked on a door, and a man by the name of Luis answered. I was able to witness to Luis, and he got saved. After he got saved, he told me that he was amazed at how God works. He said that he was not supposed to be at home that day. He was supposed to go motorcycle riding with his friends but decided to stay home because his father had told him not to leave the house. He said he was glad that he had listened to his father and had a chance to come to know Christ as his personal Saviour.
