Jonathan and Brittany Beil Prayer Letter: The Many Open Doors of Christmas in ThailandWe pray you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Praise the Lord for another year to serve Him! The year 2023 was a year where we were able to see the Lord work in many ways in our lives. December 30 was also our four-year anniversary of serving in Thailand, and we are very grateful for your support and prayers that have made that possible.

Throughout the last month, we had the opportunity to go into four different public schools to teach the Christmas Story, preach the Gospel, and pass out tracts and John and Romans to every student. It was a great privilege to share the love of Christ with hundreds of students and teachers. Praise God for those who trusted Christ! Please pray for all those who heard the Gospel, most for the first time ever, to understand and respond to Him.

In December, we also hosted a Christmas gathering in our home and had over 20 of our neighbors join us. Brittany did a great job planning activities with the kids. We had a great time together and were able to share the Christmas message with them.

The weekend before Christmas, I had the opportunity to preach in Thai to the church congregation, and in the afternoon, we had a special service for all of the kids who normally come on Saturdays to learn English, with their friends and family in attendance also. Around 60 guests were there that day. The students performed a Christmas Story play, we played some games together, and a young Thai man who recently graduated Bible college preached the Gospel message. The holiday of Christmas gives us many open doors to share with many people who are interested in the festivities but don’t know the story of hope behind them.

It seems like the Christmas holiday is becoming more popular every year in Thailand, especially in Bangkok. Most places now have Christmas decorations and music. A few times while we were out, we heard a Christmas hymn, such as “Joy to the world, the Lord has come,” playing on a loud speaker. In this spiritually dark country, the name of Christ being publicly sung is cause for celebration!

Please pray for traveling safety, as I will return to Northern Thailand at the end of January to attend a pastoral ordination service for three national pastors. We also covet your prayers for our upcoming furlough in July and all the planning that entails. We are looking to get plane tickets in the next few months. We have many supporting churches and are grateful for each and every one. If our schedule allows and you would like us to come update your church, please let me know.

Thank you all for your love and heart for missions in Thailand and around the world.

In His service,

Jonathan, Brittany, Judah, and Archer Beil
