September was a good month for our family, as we continued to settle in during the lockdowns here in our district. We are currently in the western suburbs of Sydney, which has seen high cases of the new COVID-19 variant. Sydney is broken up into certain LGAs or local government areas. Unfortunately, we happen to be in an “LGA of concern.” We are not able to go more than 5km from our homes unless it is essential. We have found it challenging to get things done, but the Lord has allowed us to move forward despite the circumstances. Please pray for this situation!
At the beginning of the month, I had the privilege to teach and preach via Zoom for one of our supporting churches, Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Toongabbie, New South Wales. The pastor there, Israel Marquez, was in fact the one who led me to the Lord when I was 13 years old. My wife and daughter Elin also got to sing a special number. Churches here aren’t allowed to meet at the moment, but we thank God for technology!
We are grateful for my older brother Brian, who allowed us to stay with his family after we got out of our mandatory hotel quarantine. We praise the Lord that we are now staying at a house that my brother just bought recently. It was a busy month of getting the house ready to move into. Slowly but surely, we were able to buy new and used appliances and furniture. We will continue to stay here until things open up and we’re able to survey a few locations where the Lord would have us plant a church.
Since finishing deputation, we have partnered with even more churches. We would like to welcome Texas Baptist Church of San Antonio, Texas; Tabernacle Baptist Church of Wilson, North Carolina; Liberty Baptist Church of Morristown, Tennessee; and Gospel Light Baptist Church of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. We praise the Lord that we have received our new printer, which has enabled us to print the children’s homeschool materials and also Gospel tracts! School starts at the beginning of the year here in Australia, but for our children, it started this past month. Please pray for our soul-winning efforts during this time. Thank God, we’re able to put these Gospel tracts in letter boxes! We are so thankful for praying Christians and for supporters who keep the work going here Down Under! May the Lord bless you!
