Brendan and Karin Morgan Prayer Letter: One Year Down, A New Year AheadThe end of 2021 marked the end of a little over a year of our being “officially” on deputation (although our “full-time” deputation truly began in September 2021). We traveled over 20,000 miles and across 28 states in 2021! I thank God for all of the churches He allowed us to visit and all of the wonderful people we were able to meet. We would like to thank all of you who pray for us and support our ministry to preach the salvation of Jesus Christ to the Japanese people! We literally could not do this without you!

In December, we finally spent some time at our home church, Regency Baptist Church, and visited many family and friends. This was also convenient, as our RV was (and still is) getting repaired. We stayed with my wife’s sister in what used to be our tiny house. With 15 people, things were cramped, but our children had a great time playing with their cousins every day. In the middle of December, we visited several churches in Southern California. We had a few scheduled meetings, as well as a few drop-in visits. We praise the Lord that one of the churches that we dropped in to invited us back the following week and voted to take us on for support that night! Another church we dropped in to visit also indicated that they would like to take us on for support.

At the end of December and the beginning of January, we got to be with several churches closer to home, one of which was Iglesia Bautista de Sacramento. Pastor Agusto Leiva’s daughter Julissa is my daughter Sienna’s long-time piano teacher, and it was great to visit their church and present our ministry in Spanish! Finally, we attended a Missions Conference at Central Coast Baptist Church in Marina, California. This meeting was special because the other two missionary families were fellow missionary friends we had met at prior conferences. Many of these meetings resulted in support or the church’s intention to start supporting us soon.

We will detail some more of these visits in our following prayer letter, but suffice it to say, God has blessed us with some great meetings and great churches that have a desire to partner with us. We praise the Lord that we have broken the 40% mark in our support! Hopefully, by the end of February, we should see that number rise quite a bit more! Please pray as we now travel across the country again with meetings in Maryland, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Kentucky!

For His glory,

Brendan Morgan
