Roberto Tirado Prayer Letter: I Desire to See My People SavedPRAISE

“Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.” (Romans 10:1-4) The Apostle Paul had a burning desire for the salvation of his people, even though he was an apostle of the Gentiles. Both Angela and Elisabeth, as do I, have a desire to see my people, the Puerto Rican people, saved. We praise the Lord that He has united us with the same desire to preach the Gospel of Christ to my people! We look forward to continuing to win lost souls to Christ, especially now that our island has, in some measure, opened with fewer COVID restrictions.

Praise the Lord! Elisabeth made sure of her salvation on October 17, 2020!! The Lord has given me three opportunities to preach the Word. I will preach next on January 31 as a guest preacher for a Faith Promise Missions Conference in a nearby Baptist church.

PRAYER

Puerto Rico has a total of 78 municipalities, which also includes the smaller islands of Vieques and Culebra. I recently wrote a Puerto Rican missionary, asking him how many municipalities do not have an Independent Baptist church. He sent me a list of 35 municipalities which do not have even one Independent Baptist church. Maybe the Lord will call you to start an Independent Baptist church in one of those very needy municipalities. My family and I are praying about starting a church on the Northwest Coast of Puerto Rico, between the municipalities of Quebradillas and Arecibo, which also includes the municipalities of Camuy and Hatillo. We currently live about 1½ hours away from that area. We have made four trips to both Camuy and Hatillo, getting to know the people and the area better, as well as passing out Gospel flyers. Please pray as we seek God’s will concerning the starting of our church.

GRATITUDE

We are grateful and appreciate each one of our supporting churches. You have been faithful in praying for us and in your financial giving so that we can continue serving Jesus in Puerto Rico. Thank you for staying faithful and winning souls to Jesus where God has placed you.

Faithfully continuing in the service of Jesus,

Roberto Tirado
