Brian and Liesl George Prayer Letter: On Furlough in the States
Praise the Lord! We are back in the United States. Let me give you some news about the events before our trip! In July in Tucumán, Argentina, it is wintertime! Our house is cozy with a wood stove! We burn firewood from our property. Our living room and dining room are cozy and warm. We work together as a family to cut the wood. I heat up water on the wood stove for my coffee and tea!
We had our Youth Congress the last weekend of July at Bethel Baptist Church. It was, by far, our biggest and most productive! There were close to 300 teenagers present. Praise the Lord. Many decisions were made at the altar. I preached a message about the fires of Hell. We are going strong and preaching strong messages against sin: addictions, pride, and bitterness, which is strong in the hearts of the people. Over 30 were saved, and 26 surrendered their lives to serve the Lord! We praise the Lord for the great victories during this week at Bethel!
I’m going to be a grandpa! This will be our first! Our son Benjamin and his wife Berenice are expecting! This is exciting for me! Hopefully, I can play with my grandchild and spoil them with Mountain Dew! I pray that Jesus Christ will be their Saviour and that they will live a Christ-centered life! I’ll take them for ice cream cones and take them to the park to enjoy nature. We are so excited!
On the last weekend before our USA trip, I spent the day with my son Ezequiel. He is a graduate of our Bible college! He is an evangelist to the people up in the mountains here in Argentina. He has a passion for souls. God is using him to reach new families! Our vehicle is not made for this rough terrain. We crossed many rivers and went up and down steep grades! I was very nervous and had little faith that our car would handle the trip. We visited a few families that were won to Christ by Ezequiel! I prayed for God to help us get back without getting stuck in the mud or sliding or flipping the car over. Praise the Lord, we made it! We need a 4×4 vehicle for this ministry!
Bethel Baptist Church had a special service to give us a nice sendoff. Different ones gave testimonies of how God had used us in their lives. I preached about the power of the Gospel! Three were saved during the invitation! Many decisions to be faithful to witness and preach to others were made at the altar. Many pictures were taken. Some individuals went to the airport to see us off. Praise the Lord for Bethel and the passion the people have for God!
At our arrival at O’Hare Airport in Chicago, my son Benjamin took us to a Mexican restaurant! He also bought me a Mountain Dew! It is hot and warm here in Chicago. In Tucuman, it was cold since we are in wintertime in Argentina. We were able to witness to people on the trip and pass out Gospel tracts! Praise the Lord!
We will be at the Missions Conference at our home church August 25-28. During the first two weeks of September, Liesl and I will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary! Praise the Lord!
We are located in Washington, Iowa. Our address is 614 North Iowa Avenue, Washington, IA 52353. Our phone number is 319-331-4934.
Thank you for your prayers and support! May God bless you richly!
