I am a Thai national. My grandfather who was an evangelist and preacher taught me about Christ as I was growing up. When I was fourteen, I trusted Jesus as my Saviour and was  baptized. Through a series of events, I finally answered God’s calling to serve Him full-time when I was 24 years old. Shortly after, I attended Gospel Baptist Bible Institute. After graduating, I continued working with Gospel Baptist Church under our missionary pastor Emmanuel Sinoy as the Thai children and youth pastor and driver. Currently we are making plans to branch out of Gospel Baptist Church to start a church for Thai people in one of the nearby village that doesn’t have a church.

I grew in a Christian family and always heard about Jesus and Bible stories. When I was four years old, I told my parents I wanted to get saved. That evening, my mom shared with me how to receive Jesus as my personal Saviour. The following day, I was baptized. While in high school, my church had an outreach ministry for Karen and Burmese refugees who started attending our church. I was apart of teaching them English and picking them up for church. God used this time to knit my heart with them and give me a desire to reach the Thai and Burmese people. I spent my last semester of Bible college with the Thai missionary team in Hua Hin, Thailand. While there, I visited the Sinoy family’s ministry in MaeSot. That is when I knew God wanted me to return and serve with them.  After graduating from Hyles-Anderson College in 2013, I began to raise support. In October 2014, I arrived in MaeSot, Tak, Thailand. I have been involved in the church’s children ministries – a Burmese migrant school, children’s home, and children’s Saturday and Sunday school as well as any other church programs going on. On April 15, 2017, my husband, who is on the staff at Gospel Baptist Church, and I were married.

We are serving in MaeSot on the border of Thailand and Myanmar reaching Buddhists and Muslims for Christs through soul winning, discipleship, English-Bible Clubs, and church planting .

Teerapat Phaisarnpiwat Prayer Letter: Impacting Others for Christ’s Sake

Teerapat Phaisarnpiwat Prayer Letter: Impacting Others for Christ's SakeIn our last letter, we mentioned Nahrissa, a lady I had led to the Lord who was struggling to take care of her family. We had promised we’d find a way to help her and her family. Over several visits, we felt God was leading us to be the ones to help them directly. We opened our hearts to her family and offered to let two of her girls live with us during the school year. With us having a local address in town, we were able to register them in a nearby school and buy them their new school uniforms and school bags. In the end, the girls didn’t come to live with us but were able to stay with their mom. God used those few weeks of us really getting to know each other to develop a close relationship. Upon Nahrissa trusting Christ, she saw God begin to answer her needs and prayers. Each time people would comment on how lucky she was due to all the blessings they see she is receiving, she’d give God the glory. Nahrissa can’t attend church yet due to her job, but we hold a Bible study at the shop she works at so she can learn and grow spiritually. The two girls faithfully attend church with us and have also trusted Christ. We are so thankful that at the end of May, we had a little extra money so we could help get the girls in school and show God’s love to their mother. Thank you for your support each month. With it, we help impact others and bring them the Gospel. As we saw with this sweet family, investment in people is never a waste of time, even when the outcome isn’t what we thought it was going to be.

In June, the rainy season and the school year officially started. This means an overabundance of mosquitoes and damp air. So many around us have been getting sick, mainly with chikungunya virus and dengue fever. The diseases both come from mosquito bites. We believe my wife had a low form of chikungunya as well. Please pray for everyone’s health during this season. We have about a month and a half left until the rain stops.

Some exciting things happened for us in June. We got to attend First Baptist Church of Nawong’s soul-winning conference in Bangkok. The preaching, teaching, and fellowship were such a blessing and encouragement. Not long after returning to MaeSot, a school near our church contacted us and asked us to be a part of their two-day English Camp. This gave us a wonderful opportunity to meet students, make more contacts in the community, and teach a Bible story using English. Through this opportunity, we had some visitors and two who come faithfully now. The icing on the cake was that my 10-year-old nephew, who came to live with us during the school year, trusted Christ as his Saviour.

We have had some wonderful soul-winning opportunities this past month and are so excited about how God has been using us and the people who attend our church. One special salvation was Wai Wai Tun. Her younger sister trusted Christ about four years ago. We have been teaching and sharing with her about God and salvation since then. She attended church off and on but was confused between Islam, Buddhism, and Christianity. Of late, Wai Wai Tun has been trying to come to church more faithfully and asked for prayer that her Muslim boss would let her go to church on Sundays. The following week, she was so excited that God gave her a new and better-paying job with Sundays off. Two weeks ago, she also sweetly gave her life to Jesus and has asked to be baptized.

Please keep praying for wisdom, for provision, and for Charity Baptist Church to be used by God.

God Bless,

Teerapat and Tiffany Phaisarnpiwat
