GENERAL AGREEMENT
By selecting that you agree to this trip agreement and by participating on this trip, you agree to follow all described requirements as well as to give attention to all included recommendations.
AWARENESS OF RISK
While the office of Fundamental Baptist Missions International is both experienced and equipped in hosting missions trips, there are always risks when traveling oversees. Because of this, it is necessary for you to understand the risks.
Participating on this missions trip may expose you to risk and danger, even potential sickness or loss of possessions or life. Be aware of the risks caused by but not limited to air and land travel, foreign government regulations and law enforcement, theft, disease, viruses, state emergencies, natural disasters, animals, etc. By selecting that you agree to the trip agreement and by participating on this trip you acknowledge that you choose to personally assume full responsibility of said risks as well as those not named here and that you shall not hold FBMI or First Baptist Church or any of their representatives, employees, or agencies as responsible for any loss or damages experienced while on or because of this trip.
HEALTH PREPARATION
We recommend you visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and consult your local doctor to properly prepare physically for this trip.
You hereby give permission for such diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as may be deemed necessary for you by any medical facility. You understand that any health care facility will make every reasonable attempt to reach your emergency contact first, time and conditions permitting. A medical release form will be sent to you after you register, and it is your responsibility to complete and submit that form prior to trip departure.
CODE OF CONDUCT
By participating on this trip, you agree to follow these codes of conduct:
- Being open and honest with the trip leader
- Having an attitude and willingness to work on the mission field
- Treating others with love, respect, and Christian kindness
- Being willing to ask for help and offer help to others during the missions trip
- Attending and participating in all trip meetings and activities (KJV Bible used on all trips)
- Following the dress code for women and men (see in Dress Code section)
- Having the highest integrity and respect and conduct of a Christian in all relationships with the opposite gender
- Agreeing to abstain from the use of alcohol, tobacco, and the use of illegal narcotic drugs in any form
DRESS CODE
The FBMI trip leader/missionary will help you know what is culturally correct in your clothing and manners. Clothing worn for dress, work, or outdoor activities should be appropriate for the occasion.
Ladies/Girls FBMI CONNECT Dress Code:
All women and teenage girls should look like ladies. The style of clothing should be that which is becoming of godly women and servants of Christ. Tight, short, and revealing clothing which exposes and emphasizes the human form is never appropriate. The length of the dresses and skirts is not to be above the knee. Public dress excludes slacks and jeans. Divided skirts are acceptable for work or sports. Any t-shirts with inappropriate writing or photographs on them will not be permitted. Appropriate clothes will be needed for church services as well as work projects and casual activities.
Men/Boys FBMI CONNECT Dress Code:
All men and teenage boys should look like gentlemen. Please refrain from any extreme or effeminate appearance or body piercing or body markings. Any t-shirts with inappropriate writing or photographs on them will not be permitted. Clothing worn for dress, work, or outdoor activities must be appropriate. Men and boys should have their hair neat and trimmed above the collar. Dress slacks are to be worn for church services. There are also clothes needed for work projects and casual activities.
EMERGENCY EVACUATION INSURANCE
FBMI adds you to our emergency evacuation insurance policy during the trip, and the cost of this is included in the price. It is your responsibility to get and keep the policy card on you throughout the trip.
GENERAL RELEASE
In this section you, the trip registrant, are referred to as RELEASOR, to Fundamental Baptist Missions International, herein referred to as FBMI.
In consideration of RELEASOR’S participation in a missionary trip or other endeavor conducted by FBMI, RELEASOR voluntarily and knowingly executes this Release with the express intention of binding himself/herself, his/her spouse, legal representative, heirs and assigns, hereby expressly releases, waives, and discharges FBMI and its missionaries from all claims, demands, actions, judgments, and executions the RELEASOR ever had, or now has, or may have, whether known or unknown or that anyone claiming through or under him may have or claim loss or damage resulting therefrom, on account of injury or death to RELEASOR’S person or property, whether caused by the negligence of FBMI, its agents or missionaries, or representatives, or by any other person or organization while the RELEASOR is participating in any business or missionary pursuit or activity upon FBMI’S behalf or whether such activity is being pursued by and on behalf of RELEASOR individually.
RELEASOR hereby assumes full responsibility for the risk of bodily injury, death or property damage due to the negligence of FBMI, its agents, representatives, missionaries, or otherwise while engaging in any pursuit or activity upon behalf of FBMI or on RELEASORS own behalf. The RELEASOR further agrees to hold harmless FBMI, its agents, representatives, or missionaries from any claim by himself/herself, his/her family, estate, heirs, or assigns, arising out of RELEASOR’S participation in this, or any other activity.
RELEASOR expressly agrees that this release, waiver, and indemnity agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of Indiana, and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.
The RELEASOR hereby agrees to submit to binding arbitration any matters which cannot otherwise by resolved, and expressly waives any and all rights in law and equity to bringing any civil disagreement before a court of law, except that judgment upon the award rendered by the arbitrator may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.
