Roberto Tirado Prayer Letter: Grateful for Heaven, Grateful for FriendsMom’s Homegoing

On the afternoon of Saturday, August 10, my mother, Guadalupe, went to dwell with her Saviour. Please continue to pray for my father, Ramon Tirado, my three sisters and their families, and my family and me as we celebrate her life and miss her presence here on earth and in our daily lives.

Medical Furlough

Since arriving in Florida on July 27 on medical furlough, I have sought treatment from the Veteran Affairs Hospital. On Monday, August 12, I had an appointment with my assigned primary care physician at the Kissimmee VA Clinic. The doctor reviewed with me the lab work and x-rays that were done the week before and the medications that I was prescribed in the Dominican Republic.

I will now be receiving prescriptions through the VA. He has also set up additional testing for me, including an MRI, sleep and heart tests, and speech therapy. I will eventually be scheduled to see a cardiologist and a neurologist.

During my absence, three Dominican pastors are filling my pulpit. Please pray for our members and regulars to be faithful and grow spiritually during my medical furlough.

Gratitude

We are very thankful for the prayers on our behalf by our supporting churches, prayer partners, and many Dominican pastors and congregations. Throughout my medical crisis, many of our missionary friends and Dominican pastoral friends have helped us by caring for Elisabeth while Angela was with me in two different hospitals, helping us through the maze in the ERs, picking up medical records for us, visiting me, preparing meals for us, and filling my pulpit. God’s love for us radiated through our friends who exemplified Proverb 27:10, “. . . in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbor that is near than a brother far off.” Thank You, Jesus, for such great friends! Since we have arrived, one of our supporting churches has allowed us to use their mission house. Blessings keep coming from God!

For souls,

Roberto Tirado
