Team Ghana Update: An Opportunity to Preach to 700,000 Each SundayFundamental Hour

We praise God for opening the door for us to preach on the TV in Ghana. The name of our program is “Fundamental Hour,” and it will be broadcasted every Sunday morning from 6:00 – 6:30 a.m. on the TV3 television network. TV3 is one of the top two networks in Ghana. Over 700,000 people are estimated to be watching during the broadcast. As part of our contract with TV3, they will broadcast the audio of our program on a new radio station here in Kumasi. Positive responses to our first broadcast are coming in.

The Hand of God

We started this broadcast ministry by faith. We bought some equipment, quickly trained two of our staff men in video editing, did some filming on our own, and presented our product to TV3 several months ago. They reviewed it and told us it had potential but that much improvement was needed. TV3 then gave us the name of someone they thought had the expertise to help us in this area—Edmond Awuah. Providentially, Edmond was reached by our church 10 years ago. As a teenager, he rode to church on Missionary Charles Osgood’s bus route. Then he went off to college and was trained in video production. Edmond agreed to help us. In one day, we recorded enough sermons for 12 broadcasts. Edmond edited together the first episode, it was accepted by TV3, and we signed the contract!

Much of the funding for the first few months of our broadcast was raised through Christian Media International. We are still in need of funds to continue this ministry. The cost for this project is in excess of $2,000 per month. If you are interested in partnering with us in this area, please contact me by email at ted.speer@fbmi.org.

Team Family News

This month’s featured prayer letter is from the Sarvers. Their letter highlights our Bible college’s most recent graduation: fbmi.org/missionary/sarver#updates.  The graduation was a combined graduation service with our Christian school, Fundamental Baptist Academy. That night, my daughter Kimberly received her high school diploma! This July, I will be taking my oldest off to Bible college!

Yours for souls,
