Team Ghana Update: New Additions to Our Christian SchoolWe thank God for allowing us to start Fundamental Baptist Academy in October 2010.

Back to School

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, our school was closed (except for some tutoring in students’ homes) for the last 10 months of 2020. We thank God that in January 2021, our school was allowed to reopen. We reached an enrollment of 373 students. Of these, 167 are in K-12, and 206 children are in our preschool and daycare. We had a record enrollment of 35 in our first-grade class. The principal of our school, Missionary Micah Christiansen, reports that more of our students have trusted Christ as their Saviour this year than in any other year since he has been leading the school. And, my son James will graduate from FBA on August 15. He finished his schooling in 2020 and has been serving at our church for the last year.

Here is some more good news. In 2020, we mentioned our church member, Oppong Kyekyeku Prince, in a couple of our prayer letters. He was a public-school teacher but volunteered his time to go soul winning and preach at information centers (neighborhood public address systems) throughout the area. God has been working on Prince’s heart, and he recently resigned his government job so that he could serve the Lord as a teacher and an assistant administrator in our school.

Advancing the Work

The most pressing financial need for our ministry at this time is to put a second floor on our school building. The total cost will be more than $60,000. We greatly appreciate those who have already contributed to this need; the project is well underway. We estimate that $30,000 more is needed to complete this project. Completing this project will accelerate the growth of our ministry in these areas:

1. We will be able to enroll more students in our Christian school.
2. We will be able to enroll more dormitory students for our Bible college. Part of the extra space created will be used for expanding our men’s dormitory.

If you or your church would like to help, please visit fbmi.org/give and select the fund “Ghana Special Projects 6180.” Alternatively, you may indicate “#6180 FBA 2nd Floor” in the memo section of your check. It would help our planning if you could please email me at tspreacher@gmail.com if you plan to contribute.

Prayer Requests

In addition to praying for our school, please pray for our Pastors’ and Workers’ Conference, which will be held August 10-13. The theme for this year’s conference is “Building Stronger Marriages.” Pray for many marriages to be helped. Our featured team family this month is the Osgood family. Please take time to read their most recent prayer letter and pray for them. Their prayer letters are available at fbmi.org/missionary/osgood#updates.

Yours for souls,
