What a wonderful week we had in September with a group visiting us from Pleasantville Baptist Church! On Thursday, we had a Men’s Meeting, with over 100 men in attendance. As is the case in most parts of the world, it is harder to get men to attend events than it is to get ladies and children. The following day, we held a Ladies’ Meeting, with over 200 in attendance. Saturday was Kids’ Day, and our church property was overflowing with over 400 excited kids and helpers for this one-day Vacation Bible School. The Sunday following these events, we had Family Day at church. Many visitors from the week’s events came back for this special Sunday, and many souls were saved.
In October, we had three special Sundays back to back. We started off with Good Neighbor Sunday. Many of our church members brought friends and neighbors. Baptism Sunday was a wonderful day as well. I began preaching about baptism the Sunday before and spent all day preaching on it that Sunday. We saw 14 people follow the Lord in baptism. What a great year of baptisms we have had! We finished the special days with Baby Dedication Sunday. It was a sweet and warm service, as 16 families brought their babies to be dedicated to the Lord.
Our son David led a man to the Lord while out on soul winning. After he finished talking to this man, David came and talked to me about how many of the people he talks to promise to come to church but never show up. This man he had just led to the Lord had also promised to come. What a joy it was that Sunday when he did come! He told me, “I promised your son I would come, so I had to come.” What a blessing it is to see our children with a heart to serve the Lord!
Please pray for our 2024 Stadium Crusade. This will be the 10-year anniversary of our crusade, and the Lord has laid it on my heart to hold the crusade in the capital city of Dar es Salaam. This is a huge undertaking, and we are praying for God’s provision and guidance every step of the way. Will you join us in prayer for this monumental event? Please pray about the booking of the National Stadium and the Tanzanian team’s commitment to play this match. We already have thousands of John and Romans on-site that are specialized with a crusade-themed cover. We have been having our young people staple decision cards to the John and Romans in preparation for the crusade. Many other preparations have been made.
As always, we need prayer for red tape with paperwork. Please be in prayer for the paperwork for our radio-station transition. This has been a very long and drawn-out process. Please pray that this can be resolved quickly. In addition to some red tape with our radio, we also have some mission paperwork that we need to see God work through.
Serving the people of Tanzania,
Jerry & Rachel Wyatt
