Warren Storm Prayer Letter: Bus Kid Becomes a Preacher!God Blessed Us

Our 38th grandchild, little Grace, was born to our daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Kevin Gorniak, on July 24, 2017. She weighed 9 pounds 7 ounces. Her big brother Christian was so excited! Mom and baby are doing fine.

Bus Kid Becomes a Preacher

As a teenager, Pete Petersen was invited to Battle Creek Baptist Temple. He rode their bus just a few times, and from then on he drove his car to the church. He later worked on one of their bus routes and married Pastor Dye’s daughter Amy. Last September they started the Gospel Light Baptist Church in Hastings, Michigan. God is blessing Gospel Light Baptist Church. Pastor Petersen told us how very thankful he is for the Bus Ministry.

My wife Jary Lynn was also a teenage bus kid. The church was too small to have a bus, so the deacon’s family faithfully brought her and a couple others to every service at Omaha Baptist Temple in Omaha, Nebraska. Later she went on to Bible college. She is so grateful for the Miller family and for her pastor and his wife, Pastor and Mrs. Duane Brown. Oh, how important it is to invest in the lives of the bus kids!

Father and Son Receive Christ

At Harvest Baptist Church in Manhattan, Kansas, I had the privilege of going on a bus route with a bus captain. The first house we visited, his bus kid Isaiah was not at home. We had the opportunity to meet his dad Matt. After we shared the Gospel with him, he bowed his head and trusted Christ. We went to the next house, and Isaiah was coming down the street. We were able to tell him the good news, and he accepted the Lord as well.

In July and August, God allowed us to travel 2,762 miles, helping 22 churches and preaching 13 times. We worked on 44 buses and put 16 back on the road that had been off.

First Baptist Church of Hazel Park, Michigan, was given a 2006 Freightliner bus, with air conditioning and all. There was only one problem—it was not running! We ran several diagnostic checks. Finally, with God’s help we traced it to a corroded wire under the bus, and we were able to repair it. Pastor Clark and I were both shouting and praising the Lord!

Special Prayer Requests

(1) Pray that many more souls can be reached, that more churches will start Bus Ministries, and that more bus mechanics and CDL drivers will volunteer for Christ’s kingdom.

(2) We ask that you continue praying for our son James and his wife and five sons.

(3) Pray for our son, Dave Highfill, who is in the Navy and will be deployed to East Africa for a year on the 5th of September.

(4) Also, on the 6th of September, we will be going on a missions trip for 10 days to Rwanda, Africa, to visit our daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Gregg Schoof, and their family. We will be preaching, going soul winning, and repairing vehicles. On the way back, the Lord willing, we will visit the Lorraine American Cemetery in Saint-Avold, France, where Jary Lynn’s dad is buried. He was killed in action in WWII.

Thank you for partnering with us to help the churches. We are so thankful for your faithful prayers and financial support. The extra love offerings and love gifts are a special blessing to us, as well as your kind wishes for our birthday and anniversary. Your thoughtfulness is very much appreciated.

Yours for souls,

Warren & Jary Lynn Storm
