As 2020 is coming to an end, it is a blessing to look back and see all that the Lord has done. Both churches in Hua Hin and Nong Plap continue to grow weekly in numbers and in spiritual growth, for which we are so thankful. I have personally been able to lead 36 people to Christ since my last prayer letter. There is nothing more precious than sharing the Gospel with someone searching for the truth. For several months I have been praying for two sisters who attend our language school and inviting them to church. Their parents refused permission each time, until one weekend when they finally said, “Yes!” Luk Blah and Pu have come several times now, and both have trusted Christ. They’ve even been allowed to attend a youth activity. Please pray that we might be able to reach the entire family.
My weekly ladies’ Bible study continues in PaleU. It is encouraging to see their thirst for learning the Bible and their enthusiasm each week to say their memory verses. In October, I was able to hold a ladies’ Bible study at the Chinese Noodle Factory. These ladies attend our Nong Plap church on the rare occasion they have a Sunday off. Recently the Lord opened up a door for new jobs for all of them at a chicken factory, where they not only received a small pay raise, but they now have every Sunday off. Praise the Lord!
In October, I was able to teach a few special English and Bible classes to the children in PaleU and at an orphanage in BaDang. I was able to take the children some special treats and give them each an umbrella. They were so excited to have something new and all their own.
In November, I was blessed to celebrate my birthday for two solid weeks. I guess everyone thought my big 50th was worth celebrating, and I was so spoiled. I had several surprises, and everyone’s kindnesses were humbling. I held a birthday fundraiser for my Heavenly Treasures Orphan Project, hoping to raise about $500. The Lord blessed, and we received over $1,800! It will be enough to support this young girl named Ben for an entire year, as well as get Christmas gifts for all of our Heavenly Treasures. Also in November, a dear missionary friend named Liz, who runs a small orphanage for at-risk young girls, came for a visit, along with her girls. It was lovely spoiling them for the few days they were here with me and catching up with all the Lord is doing in Liz’s ministry. Thailand has hundreds of thousands of young children who are either orphaned or at-risk. Please pray for them.
Recently I met a group of kids and teens while out soul winning not far from our church. While one of our Thai staff members was leading them to the Lord, I was able to witness to a couple of the mothers. Praise the Lord, they all got saved! Two of the teen girls came the following Sunday and brought a friend. The three came the next week and brought another friend. They all completed the first book in our discipleship program the very first week it was given to them and asked if they could get baptized the following Wednesday night. Please pray for the continued spiritual growth of Grahda, Chompoo, and Song.
As always, thank you for your prayers and financial support for me and for the great work the Lord is doing here in Hua Hin.
Serving the Master joyfully,
Shari House
