Robert Tirado Prayer Letter: Great Church Anniversary ServicesPRAISE

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21) Our church celebrated its fifth anniversary May 7-10, 2015, and God truly blessed us in a great and mighty way. Pastor Darrell Hurst preached six powerful messages, which instructed, challenged, and encouraged our people. Our attendances and salvations for our anniversary were as follows: Thursday—101 in attendance, 6 salvations; Friday—90 in attendance, 7 salvations; Saturday—140 in attendance, 14 salvations; Sunday morning—74 in attendance, 16 salvations; and Sunday night—141 in attendance, 25 salvations. On Sunday alone, our church had 70 first-time visitors, with one first- time visitor bringing 24 first-time visitors with him on Sunday morning! Our people, both adults and children, worked hard; and God blessed us exceeding abundantly above all that we could ask or think. Our original goal was to have 125 individuals combined between the Sunday morning and night services.

PRAYER

Please pray with us as we follow up on all the visitors and new believers and encourage them to join us as we reach the lost with the Gospel of Christ. One of the great needs that our anniversary confirmed to us again is our need of our own church van. For our anniversary, we hired two vans with drivers to transport our people and visitors to church. Although two different drivers were hired for Thursday and Friday to help our regular hired driver, neither of them showed up to pick up riders. In the end, I was picking up people in our 10-year-old minivan. On Saturday night we were not able to bring 20-25 people to church because of the lack of transportation. One option Angela and I are praying about is selling our minivan and purchasing a larger van to help with our church’s transportation needs. If you can contribute to our van fund, please designate the monies as “Tirado Van Fund.”

GRATITUDE

I am so grateful to Pastor and Mrs. Darrell Hurst for being such a blessing to our church and my family. On Sunday, May 28, 1995, my family and I visited Pastor Hurst’s church, New Zion Baptist Church, while we were on deputation; and they voted that same day to take us on as their missionaries to Puerto Rico. They have been our faithful prayer and financial supporters now for 20 years! We are encouraged by and appreciate each one of our supporting churches. Thank you for helping us to do God’s will for our lives.

For souls,

Roberto Tirado
