June 29, 2020 Dear Fellow Laborers, As we labor and toil to see the Gospel Baptist Church established, God gave us an unexpected blessing. A man named Dhurbo, who is from India, came to Poland and was here for half a year. He went back to his country and got saved and baptized. Then he got engaged and married. He is in seminary now, studying for the ministry. He told me recently it was because of the meetings he had with us that all of this took place. He and his wife call me their “father.” When Dhurbo got saved, his Hindu family disowned him. He feels that he doesn’t have a true family from his birth parents, and that’s why he “adopted” us as his parents. We are very glad to see God do amazing things with the Gospel being preached in Poland and abroad, “That the world may know.” The Coronavirus pandemic that has swept the world created many problems here, not only in the public life but in many people’s private lives. It is good for people to work and live disciplined lives because they are too tired to do things that they will regret later. People were off work for several months and were locked in their communal-living settings, so it created a situation where sin was easier to commit. We are trying to be safe and follow the guidelines our country has made. It seems like lately we have had a lot of things break down or need repairs. I’ve had to repair my car several times recently. I've had two mechanics not be able to help with recent problems. We found a good third mechanic to fix our automobile, and I was able to witness to him. The mechanic told me he had been “born again” because he had a big surgery and survived. I told him that I had been born again spiritually. This gave me a great opportunity to testify to the man! I thank God for having the opportunity to share the good news of salvation. We’ve also had some other electrical appliances break down—computer screen, clocks, and toaster—which just serves to remind us that all of the things in this world are temporal and of little value. I never knew it would take my entire life to develop a church. Many missionaries to Europe I have met have stayed here for 25 to 40 years and established 1 church with a group of 25 or so people. Please pray that God will give us health to see the Gospel Baptist Church established with faithful men to lead and guide this body of believers to new heights. What an honor and privilege it is to be God’s servants and yours. We have been able to meet together as a church here since the end of May. Our regular people have come together. Unfortunately, some people moved away or stopped coming. The quarantine created a situation where it was necessary to have live services online. This has allowed other people around Poland and around the world to join us and to hear the preaching. We plan to continue doing this online service as an extended outreach.
