Paul and Ling Awi Lung Prayer Letter: God Is at Work Even in Difficult TimesGreetings to you in the loving name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I trust that you all are in good health and doing well. As for my family and me, this year has not been a good year. First, my wife has not been well for many months. She has been hospitalized three times with a bleeding problem. Four years ago, she was bleeding internally for a week, but after treatments, she was okay. However, this year it has been very bad again. Her blood pressure dropped very low to around about 72/50. Sometimes when she would wake up, she couldn’t see anything, and she fell down twice. Please pray for her. She sees the doctor every Monday. As for my health, I had to have two stones removed from my right kidney, but I am still having problems,

The military government is checking on our children’s home all the time to see whether the boys in our home are at school or not. Our older students and graduates are part of the PDF (People’s Defence Force) movements, so we are not strangers to difficult times. I was asked several questions, and then they studied me carefully. They all know about our planting churches and the pastors and their families. Two weeks ago, my Pastor Timothy’s older son, who was just 23 years old, was shooting and got killed. Many civilians have been tragically killed. Politically, we are in bad shape. Please pray for us.

But when we are in difficult times, God is at work and moves in our midst. We have more unity and more understanding about life, and we can help those who are searching the way to live peaceful lives. Fortunately, that way is in Jesus Christ alone, and I praise God that I have gotten more sermons to preach to the people. Amen. At the end of October, we had flooding again in our Agape Children’s Home dorm. All of our farming lands are gone, we’ve had landslides, and there will be no harvesting this year. We had to move all of our girls temporarily to the Faith Children’s Home at Hmawbi, and we all were a mess this month. Thank God that we are now getting healthy. Our girls are back home at Agape, and they are doing good. Our Lord has been good. We keep the fight going on for the Gospel of Jesus.

Prayer Requests

1. Please pray for my wife’s and my health.
2. Pray for my children’s education and their futures.
3. Please pray for my preacher boys of (24 pastors and their families); some of them are very discouraged due to the military coups and the fighting and the running here and there to escape the coups, the fighting, and the burning,

Thank you so much for your love and care. May God bless you all richly as you love Him and serve Him in truth with us.
