Paul and Ling Awi Lung Prayer Letter: Facing Challenges . . . But We Never Give Up!Greetings to you all in the loving name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I hope that you all are doing well and are all in good health. This is my sincere prayer for all of our supporting churches and praying friends.

By God’s grace, the churches and all of my preacher boys and their families are in good health. They keep going on. Souls are being saved, and they keep going on, preaching the Gospel. In the countryside, we are facing a lot of challenges and problems due to curfews in and across the provinces, but we never give up. We are keeping the faith, putting our trust in God, and continuing to fight for the truth.

The regime coups and the civilians continue fighting every day, blaming one another. There is nonstop fighting. Sadly, the local government stopped our Wednesday night prayer meeting services and our Sunday night services, but in my church, we have made arrangements with the local government for a Sunday morning service and an afternoon service from 1:30 to 3:30. This has worked out very good for us, but the rest of the churches weren’t able to do so. We are praying that God will remove the evil king and replace him with good leaders for the country.

The two children’s homes are just great. They are functioning well, and the kids are in good health and eating very good. These are such heart-touching ministries. My heart rejoices to see these blessed works. They are the future of this country, the leaders of tomorrow. We value your faithful support and prayers.

Our church-planting projects have not gone as I expected they would due to political pressure. Many of our members and churches are in dangerous conditions. Please pray for their ministries. My 25 preacher boys, however, keep going on in their preaching. They are not turning back at all. We are also sending another 5 missionary families to the Thailand border (to the Karen people), to the border of China (to the Akha people), and to the Irrawaddy region.

Pastor Stephen of Akha Baptist Church is the field leader of a good number of these works. All of these works are a result of your faithful support and prayers. We will do more in the days ahead. This is our commitment and call in carrying the Gospel of Jesus to the world before His coming to take us to our eternal home in Heaven. Amen.

Prayer Requests

1. Pray for my health. I am taking medications as the doctor advises; the next step is to have the stone removed from my right kidney.
2. Prices are very high day after day; the prices of things are unbelievable! For example, 1 liter of gas is now US$6.30! All Western countries are blocked off, sanctioned due to political pressure.
3. Pray for political changes. Pray that God would remove the wicked king and replace him with a good king who loves our country and our people.
4. Pray for our furlough program. We need to raise money for two building projects, college library books, and utilities.

May God bless you all richly as you serve Him with me in truth.

Yours sincerely,

Pastor Paul T. Lung
