Nick and Beth Watt Prayer Letter: Teen MinistryGod has been good to us here in Whanganui, and I trust the same is true for you and yours. Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer and support of our ministry here in Whanganui. You are a blessing to us.

Family Trip to the States

For seven weeks, Beth, Abby, and Zack were in the States with Beth’s family. This is the first time the kids have been there since 2017-2018with our 2020 trip being cancelled—I think you can understand why that would have happened! The quality family time was a great blessing, and they made many memories while getting to know their American family. Being an only child from a single-parent home, my family here is not very big, so it is a blessing that the kids get to experience big family events too. While they were all away, I hosted a young Kiwi guy, Antony Rodgers, who is praying about and working towards ministry. Antony stayed with me, and he did a lot of preaching while I also trapped him into helping with my house-renovation projects. His servant’s spirit is such a blessing. Please pray for the Lord’s provision and guidance for Antony.

Teen Camp / Teen Activities / Teen Discipleship

This is a very deep truth, but I have noticed that children do not stay children forever, nor do teenagers stay teenagers. Their teen years come and go in what feels like the blink of an eye. Last year and this year, I have begun investing more and more in the teenagers of the church. We had two vans going to Teen Camp this year, and it was such a blessing. God really worked in our young people’s hearts. We have continued the monthly joint teen activities with sister churches to the west and east of Whanganui. Most recently, I have begun teen discipleship each week with the young people. This is already bearing fruit with them being more engaged in serving at church, more clear about their testimony, and generally just more open to talk and ask questions. We have a generally shy and introverted group, so having them begin to open up has been a massive victory. Please pray for this new ministry and for them to begin walking with God for themselves.

Prayer Requests

Church Building – I have been approached by the owner of the building we lease to ask if we would like to buy it. Please pray for wisdom. The building is over 100 years old and in need of significant investment, but there is also not a lot available at this price.
Homeschooling – For anyone that has done it, you know how it can be a struggle at times, and at other times, it can be the greatest thing in the world. This continues to be the case for us too. Please pray for both students and teachers at Watt School.
Continued Growth – We have added more seats to the auditorium. This is part present need and part step of faith.

In Christ’s love,

Nick, Beth, Abby, and Zack
