Mshama and Martha Kinyonga Prayer Letter: God Is Faithful and GoodAnother Thanksgiving has come, and Christmas is on its way, too, so 2023 is coming to an end. As we look back throughout this year, we realize that time truly is a thief, and no one would have guessed that this year would have turned out this way. It has been a year of twists and turns, ups and downs, and highs and lows—but God is faithful and good, and the things that we learn in the valleys are very important, just as important as what we learn on the mountaintops. So, although we don’t prefer the valleys, we are grateful for the goodness and protection that God gives.

We have Martha’s upcoming surgery on December 11. The surgery will last four to five hours, as they remove a foot of colon and reconnect it with titanium staples. The doctor seems very nice and professional. We are grateful for his knowledge, and we are praying that all goes well. The recovery will be a couple of months.

Esther and Benjamin are doing well in school. They have really enjoyed the activities and the fellowship. We are glad that they get this opportunity to attend a great Christian school. I know they are excited for the time off though.

I will be leaving for Tanzania on the 15th of December and returning on the 31st. It will be a quick trip but enough for me to be able to conduct a wedding and teach and preach to our folks on Christmas. I’m grateful that I will be able to ring in the new year with my family.

We pray that you all will have a Happy Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas, and a safe and Happy New Year. Thank you for your prayer and financial support. We are constantly praying that God would continue to show favor to your churches and ministries. We love and appreciate you all.

Your missionary friends,

Mshama, Martha, Esther, Benjamin, Rachel, & Sarah Kinyonga
