Would you be equipped to persuade them of the REALITY of our God?
HERE IS A GREAT FIRST STEP TOWARD ACCOMPLISHING THIS
God has given me an exciting truth, and I want to share it with you. To do this, I must extend this letter into two pages. I almost never do this, yet I believe it will be a blessing to any soul winner, especially those with a burden for Muslims.
Years ago, a great man named Sam Sprunger was one of my teachers in Bible college. He defined persuasion as “guiding vital truths around another’s mental roadblocks.” I have never forgotten that. I’ve had many good teachers before and since. One, a Lebanese man who converted to Christianity, had this to say about sharing the Trinity with a Muslim. It is the most powerful explanation I have heard, and one I hope you will use with the next Muslim God sends across your path.
Muslims deny the Trinity. It is a major stumbling block between Christians and Muslims. They consider it an affront to the oneness of God’s nature and a damnable heresy.
Muslims consider Bible-believing Christians to be polytheistic; they think we believe in Jehovah the Father, Mary the Mother, Jesus the Son. Our response is often simply to correct a wrong notion without persuading them to our side. Consider this analogy that the Holy Spirit could greatly use:
First, Bible-believing Christians believe in the oneness of God. Christ Himself states this in Mark 12:29, “And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord.” Yet, the dynamic quality of God’s oneness can be well illustrated in one of His most vital, life-giving creations: the sun.
You’ll notice that the sun comes to us in a limited form, but we cannot go to it. Why? We would burn up. Instead, the sun—15,000 degrees Celsius and 109 times bigger than earth—sends the light we need and the warmth we need. In other words, the sun comes to us. The sun is 228 million kilometers from earth, yet sunlight IS part of the sun. It is the part we can use, enjoy, and experience without danger. SUNLIGHT IS 100% SUN—sent from a distance and received with joy.
Then, we have warmth. God placed the sun at a perfect distance to keep us from freezing or burning up. It is like the POWER of the sun. We respect it, and like the light, we need it. Again, we acknowledge that we cannot approach the sun at its source, or we would be destroyed. So God placed us at a proper distance from the sun—because HE KNEW WE WOULD DIE WITHOUT IT. THE SUN BRINGS LIFE.
The sun pictures a perfect Trinity in nature:
• The sun itself is 100% sun (Jehovah).
• The light that travels to us from the sun is 100% sun (Jesus Christ).
• The warmth that travels from the sun is 100% sun (the Holy Spirit).
All three are different, yet all three are the same. Be sure to clarify from the outset that only pagans consider the sun to be a god! This is only an analogy. The light and warmth of the sun are reliant on the sun’s source. Can you see the relationship?
Following your presentation of this analogy, here is Scripture to share with your prospect:
“Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” (John 5:19)
“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
THE HOLY SPIRIT
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
The foundation of every cult shows man reaching up to God for salvation. In truth, Christianity is God reaching down to man, and our analogy backs this up.
I hope this explanation can be a help to you in introducing the true Christ to Muslims!
NEW PRAISE TO GOD
FOUR MORE PEOPLE in Afghanistan trusted Christ during October. Please PRAY for growth for these new converts:
• H___ A___
• G___ H___
• My wife will be fitted for a two-week heart monitor to diagnose the tachycardia she has been experiencing. Please pray for clear answers on this problem.
• A technical matter has slowed our start-up work in Egypt. We are close to remedying this. Please pray for God’s help!
• Souls in Morocco, Egypt, Afghanistan, and Dearborn.
• We have pastors on the ground to help new converts in each of these countries, with the exception of Afghanistan. Because of the extreme dangers in that country, we are discipling new believers online for the time being. Please pray for God’s timing in finding the right sherpherd(s) for these people.
• Please pray for our weekly Bible studies with Iranians, Afghanis, and Moroccans.
• Please pray for monthly funds to continue our ongoing works in four countries. We need $2,500 to keep this going.
God bless you for your prayers and your generosity. We cannot reach these dear people without your monthly support. THANK YOU!
Gratefully in His service,
