Missionary #6004 Prayer Letter: God's Amazing and Limitless Power!“. . . that ye may know . . . what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe . . . .”
(Ephesians 1:18-19)

What an encouragement it is to contemplate God’s limitless power and His willingness to allow us, His lowly creations, to access it! When I look around Taiwan, I see God’s amazing work. I have lived many places in the world, but none are more amazing than here. Formosa (“Beautiful Island”) was an accurate name given to it by the Dutch. Not only is God’s power shown on display in the scenery but also in the work He is doing among the people here.

Our family alone has put more than 350 Gospel tracts directly into the hands of individuals in the last 8 weeks. Through these contacts, we have been able to share the Gospel several times. While passing out tracts, I came across a couple of Filipino men at a restaurant. M___ and RC both indicated they were not sure about their eternity. They allowed me to explain how to know for sure they could go to Heaven. We followed up with a few questions for clarity, and then they both prayed and called upon Jesus for salvation! Please pray for many others whom we have met and with whom we are patiently waiting for the Holy Spirit to open an opportunity to share the good news. My wife has also had the opportunity to share the Gospel several times. As she talked with one of our Buddhist neighbors, she was able to explain clearly the love of the One True God to her. Though she didn’t accept Jesus as her Saviour, it was obvious that she is interested. When the girls’ Chinese tutors were at our home, S___ was also able to give the Gospel to them. Again, it was a time of sowing and watering. Pray for the Word of God to have a lasting effect on each person who receives it.

Thank you for your prayers for A___. Please continue upholding him in prayer. Though he was saved as an older teenager, he did not have much help in growing. Decisions made in the past have caused hurt and heartache. Now he is growing and learning much about faith. He has started to attend our church regularly. In fact, he has been to at least one service every Sunday for the last month. This is a big change for him. In the past, he could rarely attend church due to work. Recently, he was even able to bring his son with him. He has also been instrumental in leading his girlfriend to grow in faith. Together, they are on the verge of completing their study of salvation, baptism, and the Bible. They have learned much, and we look forward to seeing them put their new knowledge into action.

Please pray for us, as S___ and I are working through the struggles of language study. We have “in class” lessons for several hours a week. In addition to that, we are spending several hours outside of class trying to use what we have learned to meet people and get the Gospel to them. Please continue to pray for direction and goals concerning this important part of our ministry.

Your prayers and support are making a difference! Thank you for investing in the Lord’s work in Taiwan and China. Thank you for your part in getting the greatest story to the greatest population.
