A Great Day
On a recent Thursday, my van was in the shop, so I took a taxi to the church property. Before I could invite the driver to our church, he said, “Pastor, pray for me that I would get salvation.” I told him, “God wants to answer your prayer right now!” When we arrived at our church property, the driver, named Thomas, agreed to park and hear what the Bible had to say about salvation. One of our Ghanaian men shared the Gospel with him, and he found the salvation he was seeking! I made a short video about this salvation story: http://tinyurl.com/TaxiDriverThomas.
But the day was not over. After work, I stopped at the market to buy some fruit or bread. I felt led to stop and see my convert Sammy at his shop. (I wrote about him in our last update.) We normally work on his discipleship lessons on Saturday afternoons, but this was Thursday. He said he was glad I had stopped by because he had something to show me. He opened up his discipleship booklet on soul winning and showed me two names he had written at the back: James and Kwame. That very morning, Sammy had shared the Gospel with those two men, and they had gladly received the message! What a great day!
Another Great Day
Two days later, I went to Sammy’s shop for our regular appointment, but his shop was extra busy, so we rescheduled for Monday. When I arrived on Monday, Sammy was sharing the Gospel with his wife Joyce (pictured below) and a teenager named Domfeh. Sammy allowed me the privilege of taking these two ladies through the rest of the plan of salvation, and they both professed their faith in Christ! The salvation of Sammy’s wife was a great answer to prayer!
And Yet Another Great Day
This past Sunday, our Sunday school class had 170 adults, plus more than 60 children. (For now, due to the COVID-19 restrictions, children must attend Sunday school with their parents.) One lady from my class was married on Saturday, and more than 30 of her relatives and friends then visited our class and church on Sunday. Also on Saturday, we buried our class member, Dickson Gyamfi, whom I had won to Christ back in 2011. In keeping with Ghanaian tradition, Brother Dickson’s relatives visited our church to express thanks to God even in the death of a loved one. These special guests heard the Gospel, and many put their faith in Christ. People here are so hungry for the truth and so receptive to the Gospel.

Please pray for Sammy and his wife to join our church. Keep praying for Maria’s convert Patience; she has started coming to all of our services. September is our church’s Visitor-Emphasis Month. We ask that you pray for many to find salvation and to make our church their church.
