Micah Christiansen Prayer Letter: First FurloughSeptember started our new school year, and on top of all of the busyness that comes with a new academic year, my family added preparations for a two-month furlough! I am so blessed in the people with whom I get to work. They added responsibilities and covered for me in many different ways so that we could come see family and report to some of our supporting churches. It was a blessing to see how much certain people have grown. We left Ghana in early October and returned in early December.

It was a true blessing to get to see so much family. I got to see all of my siblings who still live in the States, and Abbie had family fly in from as far away as Hawaii. We saw family we hadn’t seen for five years, we met nephews and nieces we had never seen before, and our family got to meet AnnaBeth and Ezekiel for the first time. It was a special blessing to see my brother Amos at work starting a church in Winslow, Maine, and to see my brother Caleb just starting deputation to go to Nigeria, West Africa. We should be neighbors before too long! (Nigeria is just a couple of countries away.)

Abbie and I got to meet friends we hadn’t seen in a long time, and we enjoyed getting to reconnect with some of our supporting churches.

It was a blessing to have an American Thanksgiving surrounded by family, and we surely have much for which to be thankful. We are thankful that we had a safe flight back to Ghana and that we arrived with all of our luggage.

Please pray for us as we get back into the swing of things here in Ghana. We pray that you will have a very Merry Christmas!

Fruit to Your Account

This year we decided to start doing a five-week Bible Club on Fridays at our school. This Bible Club was for our kindergarten classes for four- and five-year-olds. There were 104 children in the Bible Club. Our school teachers ran the club, and then teachers and older students witnessed to those students who responded to the invitations. We believe that 28 of the children put their faith in Christ for salvation! We will do another Bible Club in the school’s second and third terms as well. Please pray that these young people will get saved this year. Many of these students’ families do not go to our church, so please pray that God would use this ministry to result in many family members also being saved. The pictures below are of our teachers witnessing to some of the students from the Bible Club.

Yours for souls,

Micah Christiansen
