We officially started deputation on May 31. We have now been on the deputation trail for almost three months, and we are loving it! God has been blessing us in incredible ways and has given us a full schedule. So far, we have had the opportunity to be in 26 different churches in North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana. We have been privileged to present our ministry in numerous church services, as well as a Missions Conference, a Family Conference, and two Vacation Bible Schools. God has allowed my wife and me to lead 16 souls to Christ personally and even more in some of the services where I’ve been given the opportunity to preach. We have reached nearly 15% of our financial support goal and are praising God for His blessing and the generosity of His people.
God has opened several unique windows of opportunity since we’ve been on the road. One such occasion was with Pastor Dwayne Eborn at Grace Baptist Church in Newport, North Carolina. We went with him and his wife on a Saturday evening to visit several Thai foreign-exchange students, who were living right down the road from the church. Four of them had already visited the church, and we invited them to come again the next day. Two of them came for the morning service, and two more came for the evening service. The two who came for the morning service claimed to be atheists. I had the privilege of sharing a clear presentation of the Gospel with them after the service. Although they did not accept Christ, they listened intently and left with the seed planted in their hearts. We are praying that Nadia and Eeng will soon accept Christ as their Saviour. That evening, we enjoyed a time of fellowship at the pastor’s house with his family and two of the young Thai ladies who had already accepted Christ as a result of the church’s soul-winning ministry. It was a blessing to be able to converse in Thai for several hours!
Another very special blessing was the arrival of our first child! Michael Derek Bosje was born on August 18, 2023. He came three weeks early and weighed 5 pounds 12 ounces. He is such a wonderful addition to our family, and we are so excited to be parents!
