Luis Martinez Prayer Letter: Visiting the "Promised Land"Isaiah 61:1 says, “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.”

I pray you are doing well when you receive this prayer letter. My family and I are doing well, and we greatly appreciate your prayers. I thank the Lord for a good Spring Program. I’m thankful for all the first-time visitors who attended our church and heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I also thank the Lord for all those who were saved and followed the Lord in believer’s baptism.

Recently my wife and I were making some visits in an area called “Promised Land.” I approached a man doing some work in his home, and as soon as I started speaking to him, he told me he was deaf. I started speaking to him in sign language, and he accepted my invitation to church. The following Sunday he came to our church, where our deaf pastor was able to lead him to Christ. Jose has been attending church faithfully ever since.

During the month of July, my family and I will be attending Youth Conference at our home church, the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana. We will also be attending our Annual Candidate School at our mission board, FBMI. Please pray for travel mercies.
