Luis Martinez Prayer Letter: Doing a Great WorkNehemiah 6:3 says, “And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?” I pray that when you receive this letter you are doing well, along with your family and loved ones. My family and I are doing well, and we praise the Lord for the opportunity to serve Him here in Puerto Rico.

We praise the Lord for all that He did for us in 2018 and are looking forward to what He has for us in 2019. We are off to a good start. Our theme this year is Doing a Great Work.” During the month of January, we had a three-day Missions Conference. Pastor Darrell Hurst from Williamsburg, Kentucky, was our guest preacher. Our church responded very well. Our Faith Promise giving increased, and we were able to add more missionaries. Many decisions were made during the Missions Conference. A young man by the name of Daniel surrendered to be a missionary to the Dominican Republic. Another young man by the name of Julio wants to be a pastor, and another young man by the name of Abner wants to go to Bible college. All three of these young men have already started accompanying me soul winning every week.

Recently I led a young man by the name of Jesuhan to the Lord. The following Saturday, my son Jose invited him soul wining, and he came. Please pray for Jesuhan to grow in the Lord and for his family.

Many people continue to ask me about the reconstruction of our properties. At the present time, all of our buildings are operational and up and running except our Fellowship Hall. Since we are rebuilding in concrete, building plans have been drawn up and have been submitted for approval. Currently the Fellowship Hall is being dismantled and prepped up so that we can begin with Phase 1 once the permits are approved.

PRAYER REQUESTS

• Please pray for souls to be saved and baptized.
• Please pray for our Christian school, Lighthouse Baptist Academy.
• Please pray for wisdom for our son Jose, who graduates this May from high school.

May God continue to bless you as you serve Him faithfully. Thank you very much for your love, prayers, and faithful support. We love serving the Lord in Puerto Rico, and we are grateful that you are having a part. God bless you.

In Christ,

Luis M. Martinez
