Jeremy and Sandra Barker Prayer Letter: Our "Team" Has a New Member! After over nine months of preparation, Sandra and I are pleased to announce that God has blessed us with a new member to our “team.” Alex Levi Barker was born on June 28, 2023, in Greensboro, North Carolina. He weighed in at 7 pounds 12 ounces and was 20½ inches long. Like all of our other children, he was born with black hair, so we’re curious to see how long that will last. We thank all of you for your prayers, as Sandra believes this was the easiest delivery of any of our four children. Carina, Barrett, and Henry have all welcomed Alex into the family, with Henry (our 14-month-old) affectionately calling him “Bud.”

Thank you for praying for our van situation. I am happy to say that all known repairs have been made, including replacing the engine, and the vehicle is running fine. God provided for us through family members loaning us their vehicles so we could still make all of our scheduled meetings, as well as to be able to drop in at churches when we didn’t have anything scheduled.

Another happy announcement is that we are now officially a part of FBMI. All monthly support can now go directly to FBMI. The electronic method of sending is not up as of this writing. However, one will be able to go to this link, www.fbmi.org/missionary/barker, in the very near future to give electronically, if preferred. If you prefer to mail a check, it can go to FBMI, Missionary #216, 507 State Street, Hammond, Indiana 46320.

We enjoyed getting to fellowship with other missionaries during FBMI’s Candidate School. My former bus captain from college, Mike Sarver (missionary to Ghana), was there, and we got to spend some time together, as well as hear him teach at the FBMI Marriage Retreat afterwards.

We had an unscheduled visit at Blackford Baptist Temple in Hartford City, Indiana, on a Sunday night recently and were pleasantly surprised to find that my father-in-law was the missionary of the week. I was able to present after his prayer letter was read and give an update on the future grandchild that he had mentioned in his letter.

Lastly, I was able to take my oldest son soul winning in the mobile home park where I was living when I got saved. It did my heart good to see him want to knock doors and hand out tracts at the age of two. While we were out, we came across a young man who had dropped out of church but stated he was interested in coming to the local church for which we were visiting.
