Gregg and Angela Schoof Prayer Letter: Teaching PastorsDuring these two months, I had the pleasure of traveling to Northern Uganda to meet and preach to many pastors. The first meeting I had with 30 pastors went very well. I preached on basic doctrines after seeing what they really needed. I found out that some were even using NIV Bibles.

So I said, “Let’s talk about the NIV for a bit.” Then CAREFULLY and KINDLY, I informed them that it was a terrible, horrible, evil, and wicked perversion of God’s Word. I said, “I am NOT condemning you, because maybe you have not had the same opportunity that I had to listen to great preaching and teaching.” Then I proceeded to tell the short history of how the NIV came from two men who were actually making contact with devils! Several said, “WOW! I will not use that again, and thank you for teaching us without beating us down.

Then we sang “Jesus Loves Me.” They got a strange look on their faces about singing a song for little children. So I asked them, “If you don’t know these children’s songs, how are you going to teach them to the parents in your churches to sing with their families?” A light-bulb look came across their faces, and then they sang joyfully. All in all, it was a big success. Then I went to another city and had a similar meeting with 15 more pastors.

Recently, I heard of an American pastor who came a couple years ago and had a similar meeting with 50 pastors. He found out that of those 50, only 2 had ever had the Lord’s Supper in their churches! So, I hope you understand more why I want to help, train, and encourage these pastors. I was also able to teach about and do the Lord’s Supper at a local church during Easter. They had not done it for years! I rejoice that 7 people also got saved that day.

I have also been working on my website for Mount Gerizim Baptist Ministries. Many have already told me that it is such a blessing. I was also able to post The Answer Book by Keith Piper. It is a book of about 1,200 pages that really has answers to almost everything.

Please continue to pray that we get our things from Rwanda. The pastor guarding them does not want to release our things. Thank you so much for your prayers and support!
