Garry and Mindy Tingson Prayer Letter: The Ebb and Flow of the Last Couple of MonthsI wish I could say we began the month of September running at full speed, but it was full of sicknesses. It seemed like for a solid month, somebody in our family and church was sick, but we praise the Lord that we persevered through! In my absence, our church was able to throw a baby shower for the Wall family, who have been faithful since the beginning of our work here in Port Macquarie. Anyah was having some complications, but we praise the Lord that Eli was born healthy last week! During my time of sickness, we were privileged to have Bro. Jeremy from Living Hope Baptist Church fill in to preach for me.

At the end of September, we were excited to have Mindy’s parents, Don and Dawn, visit us for a couple of weeks. We were able to give them a little taste of Australia. It was a sweet, encouraging time for the whole family! We were sad to see them go at Sydney Airport; but on the positive side, to break up our long drive home, we picked up more tracts from the print shop and discovered a new Texas-style barbecue restaurant. Praise the Lord!

The ministries of our church continued on these last couple of months. We’ve been having discipleship on Thursday nights as usual and weekly tract distribution. A councilwoman has been visiting us on and off for the past three months, and last month she made a public profession of her faith in Jesus Christ. Praise God! Also in our last prayer letter, I mentioned we had a group from Sydney come up to help us with tract distributing in an area. This past Sunday, we had a married couple from that area visit us; they have been looking for an independent Baptist church in Port! Please pray for this couple, as they have a 14-year-old son they’ve been trying to bring to church, and our church may just be the right fit for him. They said that they will be back again!

Some Highlights in October: I was honoured to be on the ordination council of my preacher friend, Eaj Agatep. Rhys and I celebrated our birthdays (thank you for the birthday wishes!), and because of the heat, our church is now meeting in a tent outside. The Lord has continued to work here in Port Macquarie. We’ve seen the Lord add people to our church little by little. This past week, we helped a family move to Port Macquarie from Sydney, and they will be joining our team here. The Lord works in mysterious ways, and He gets the glory in everything that is happening here. Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support!

Your servant in Christ,

Garry Tingson
