The first part of the year 2015 has already seen many blessings and exciting events! I write this letter after celebrating our second anniversary service of Iglesia Bautista Internacional of San Gabriel. What a great Sunday we had together! We were blessed to have more than 180 people in attendance—42 people trusted Christ on that big day! We jam packed our building, and the children had their service in the park. We also dedicated a new platform and altar area that has been built in the auditorium. It was a blessing to see the men of the church praying over the altar. In the evening service, the people took time to thank God and give testimony of how their lives have been changed by the power of the Gospel. It was certainly a blessed anniversary day.
Visiting with us on Saturdays are Chris and Irene Williams, who are here on a survey trip. They are currently on deputation to join us here in Peru. Mrs. Williams has been training the ladies in soul winning on Saturday evenings. She has been a big blessing to us. So far in 2015, more than 60 professions of faith have been made here in San Gabriel, Lima.
We baptized 4 people in February. We are baptizing now once each month in the park in front of the church. It is a great place to baptize. People come from all over the neighborhood to watch the baptism. One of the couples we baptized was Guido and Luzbet. They are a couple who are growing tremendously in the Lord and are now hosting a Bible study in their home. They have brought many family members to church with them as well, and God is really working in their family. Please pray for them.
I would also ask your prayers as I begin a new phase of my ministry here in the area of church planting. We will be beginning many challenging and exciting helps for church planters while continuing to pastor and train servants of the Lord in Lima. Your prayers are needed.
We are so thankful for each of you. Many churches gave an extra offering to us during the Christmas season. These monies have been very encouraging to us and have helped us to advance the cause of Christ. Thank you.
