Fisa Mihy-Mihyndu Prayer Letter: Troubled . . . Yet Not DistressedThe Bible declares: “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair.” (II Corinthians 4:8) Praise the Lord for His faithfulness in the midst of some fiery trials from within (the church) and without (the world). Due to heretics and heretical teachings, these past several months have been the most trying since the work began here. We have people at our church who come from completely different doctrinal backgrounds. Learning Biblical doctrine has been a real challenge for them.

SOUL WINNING

The Bible states: “. . . Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15) The Lord kept us very busy these past several months. God gave us a good soul-winning team. We do both door-to-door soul winning and canvassing weekly. By the grace of God, we saw multiple salvations.

We held two recent conferences on ways to share the Gospel with a Muslim. We prayed and asked God to help us see Muslims get saved. On June 29, 2023, a young Muslim named Clauhd came to see us for prayer. He grew up in a Muslim home and was thoroughly trained in the Islamic faith. We gave him a clear Gospel presentation. The following day, he attended our prayer night, where he was gloriously saved. To God be all the glory!

BAPTISM

The Bible says: “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.” (Acts 2:41)

• We baptized 8 people recently.

DISCIPLESHIP

It is written: “And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” (Acts 2:42)

• Clauhd is now being discipled and is attending church on a regular basis.
• God gave us new families through our weekly, home-based discipleship efforts.
• Some new people have showed a desire to serve the Lord in our church; we have walked them through the process.
• Some people with Charismatic backgrounds have seen their heretical beliefs replaced by Biblical teachings. To God be the glory!
• God gave us some great new Christian workers, such as Marty, Ridge, Marc, Ruth, Herroine, Jeanne, Marcel, etc.

MINISTRY

• Smith, Mathurin, and Marty have matured considerably. They have been with us for a while now and have been grounded in sound Biblical doctrine. They have been preaching and doing a fine job. They are good soul winners too.
• We have been rotating choir members from the church in Libreville to go reinforce and help the work in Ntoum on Sundays.
• Next month, we will be sending a team to Mounana, inland Gabon, to go start a new work there. They will be going soul winning and having Bible studies to ground converts in Bible doctrine and acquaint them with the Baptist distinctives.
• We use our 18-passenger van several times a week for soul winning. Since we got it so old and used, it hasn’t been very reliable.
• We are seeing whole families starting attending church thanks to God’s work through our repeated efforts.

Thanks to your faithful prayers and support, souls are continually being saved, and lives are being changed from people from of all walks of life (adults, teenagers, kids, etc.) and stations (farmers, teachers, students, soldiers, lawmakers, patients, nurses, taxi drivers, sellers, etc.) here in Gabon! Thank you for giving to the Lord!

May God bless you even more as you serve Him faithfully!!

That all everywhere may hear,

Fisa Mihy-Mihyndu
