Fisa Mihy-Mihyndu Prayer Letter: Salvations, Baptistry, Baptisms, Growth and Much More!!In Nehemiah 4:6 the Bible states, “So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work. The months of March and April were arguably our busiest and most productive months ever since I arrived in Gabon. About 30 percent of our discipleship attendance came from my neighborhood, 60 percent from my family, and 10 percent from elsewhere. About 45 percent were adults, 45 percent children, and 10 percent teenagers. Most of our discipleship attendees had a mind to do something for the ministry and kept reaching out to me for ways to help. Please pray for wisdom and guidance, as we are drawing closer to building our first membership list and starting the First Independent Fundamental Baptist Church of Libreville (Gabon).

I am unendingly grateful to you for bringing the Gospel light to Gabon! Thank you very much for allowing God to work in you and through you to get people saved, scripturally baptized, and trained for the ministry for the multiplication of local, independent, fundamental Baptist churches. I cannot properly articulate how helpful your investment here in Gabon has been.

SOUL WINNING

The LORD accomplished so much during these past two months. On March 13 at 2:48, we received this email. It read, “Good morning Dear Sister, Dear Brother in Christ! I read your Gospel tract, ‘THE REMEDY IS JESUS CHRIST.’ I loved and accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. May God, through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, save thousands of people through your endeavors. Thank you for existing! Brotherly.”

God gave us the immense privilege to see 40 precious souls receive Jesus Christ by faith as Saviour. Praise the LORD! We averaged about 5 salvations per class session. The LORD moved me to challenge us to hand out at least 700 Gospel tracts each week. From a child as young as 5 to an adult as old as 70 years old, everyone was involved with passing out tracts in their neighborhood, at school, and at work. I had at least 3 instances where Muslim taxi drivers asked me for stacks of tracts to hand out.

We held our first soul-winning outing on March 7 at 12:00. We had 27 soul winners. God blessed our efforts! We saw 2 salvations and 7 prospects for church attendance. We have kept Sunday afternoon as our regular soul-winning time. Several people have been going soul winning faithfully. During our last soul-winning efforts, we saw 5 teenage boys receive Jesus Christ by faith as Saviour. To God be ALL the glory!

DISCIPLESHIP

For our discipleship classes on Sunday mornings, we averaged 55 people, with at least 1 visitor each time. On April 4, God blessed us with 8 people completing the first level of discipleship (Foundations of My Faith—Level 1) and receiving their certificates: McKenzie, Smith, Guy-Roger, Annie, Chimene, Segolene, Josiane, and Valene. They all worked hard and deserved it. They have been faithful with their discipleship attendance and soul winning and have shown a desire for growth.

We had our first baptisms on April 4, where 2 people, Segolene and Marcus, got baptized. Praise the Lord!

MINISTRY

God enabled us to rent 2 taxi buses every Sunday for transportation. We pick up and drop off at least 40 people every Sunday. We covet your prayers for the purchase of a 60-passenger bus for Sunday morning transportation. It is sorely needed!

In this letter, I have included 2 pictures of the nice and extremely useful pickup truck the Freedom Baptist Church family purchased for the work here in Gabon! THANK YOU!!

I PRAISE the LORD for the $6,000 from Trinity Baptist Church and Valley Baptist Church towards the purchase of a piece of land for the ministry!! I have already found a half-acre of land that costs $74,074. Please join us in prayer for God to help us raise the $74,074 needed for that land. THANK YOU!!

We purchased a baptistry in March. We plan to use it each week for baptizing. Our goal is to baptize 31 people each month and 360 by the end of this year.

Please pray for us as. We are getting ready to go through the church bylaws and membership requirements. At least 22 people have shown great interest in being a part of the first church plant. The church is scheduled to start at the end of May (May 31).

Please pray for Smith and Josiane, two recent first-level discipleship graduates, who want to honor God through marriage. I have also been working with Danny and Pamela, a married couple in the neighborhood, and their children, who are interested in joining the church once it starts.

The container is now scheduled to arrive in Gabon on May 22. It has now been three months since it left the USA. We all have been looking forward to its arrival. The ultimate goal is to give each person in Gabon a copy of the Word of God.

With the help of two local nurses, we checked people’s vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, etc.) for five hours on April 18 and met some basic medical needs. Please pray for wisdom and guidance, as we plan to use this in the future as an outreach ministry. We covet your prayers for additional medical devices and laborers.

We dedicated two babies, Azariah (6 months) and Alex le Grand (3 months), in April.

PROJECTS

We are still in need of renting a big room for multiples uses (discipleship classes, English Bible Institute, Food Pantry). We are also asking God to give us a 60-seat passenger bus for transportation on Sundays. Please join us in prayer for the purchase of the half-acre of land for $74,074. Thank you!

Once again, thank you very much for praying for God’s work in Gabon! I am keeping you all and your ministries in my prayers. May God bless you as you serve Him faithfully!!

That all everywhere may hear,

Fisa Mihy-Mihyndu
