Dave Solt Prayer Letter: Sowing in the SummerSowing in the Summer

With the full backing of our church, we are showering our city with the Gospel. Recently a missionary friend gave us boxes of nicely done, larger-print John and Romans marked editions, which we are distributing. We are claiming the promise in Isaiah 55:10-11, “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” By the way, the rain does come down and water the earth—we live in England!

Results Coming In

We have had 99 bow their heads so far this year, professing their faith in Christ! I’m sure any day now we will get to the 100th soul saved for the year. Last year we ended it with 108 people professing their faith in Christ! We are only halfway through 2017, and it looks like a record year, so I can’t help being excited about it!

A Platform to Teach

For some years we have been using the “Foundations of Our Faith” lessons provided by our sending church, the First Baptist Church of Hammond. Recently a man named James walked into our church. James has been saved for about eight years, but he needs grounding in the Bible. I enrolled James to study in my office with me. This works so well to have a neutral place like our building to meet, and it helps us to fulfill our Lord’s plan in Matthew 28:18-20. We are just sticking to the basics with no plans to change unless it means more of what we are already doing!

Another Son Leaving the Nest

We are happy to report that Joshua, our second-oldest, is preparing to attend Hyles-Anderson College in the fall. And what a huge blessing it’s been to have Daniel home for a summer visit after a very successful sophomore year. Now two of our sons will travel to the States for Bible college. It is amazing how time zooms! We are so thankful that they have all developed into fine young men. We realize
again that it was because of your prayer and financial help through the years that all of this is possible. Your support propels us to work harder for the cause of Christ, as time is running on; and soon, very likely, we will hear the trumpet and the shout! But until then, may God richly bless you all as we labor together in the harvest!

Yours for souls,
