Dave Solt Prayer Letter: Sowing in the SummerIt has been great having Josh home from college for the summer. Each day he has been a willing helper as we have distributed Gospel literature and gone soul winning and visiting. He cleans the church and does maintenance and gardening. Please pray for God to use him in the UK this summer. It’s been unusually hot and dry this spring and summer, but this has given us many opportunities to get out and witness and share the truth.

Big Day

It’s not often that a missionary to England can report a service over 100, but on the 10th of June, we had a special day, with over 100 attending on Sunday morning. It was exciting to have 14 visitors that Sunday and many returning. So far this year, 81 people have professed their faith in Christ, and 60 have visited our church since January. Every week when I’m soul winning in the city centre, I meet many people who attend our church or folks we have previously met.

Moving on Through the Heat

Our church has many activities throughout the summer. The Wycliffe ladies enjoyed a beautiful afternoon tea at a country tea room with a talk from Mary Beth. Our men took a day trip out to York to visit the National Railway Museum. Field Day is next, with outdoor fun and games with our families. Ice Cream Sunday features delicious local ice cream and strawberries. Then the summer is crowned with Holiday Bible Club (VBS) for the children. All this fun is tempered with the work of the Gospel. Already, we have delivered nearly 2,500 John and Romans to the doors and are getting low on our last year order of 25,000 Gospel tracts. People are hearing the Gospel throughout our city. The Word is getting out, and God is blessing.

Family Times

Daniel stayed at Hyles-Anderson College over the summer, where he is working overtime and saving for his future. In September, he begins his senior year. Wow! Josh is home for the summer but leaves mid-August for his sophomore year at HAC. Our thanks to those who encourage our lads with gifts and letters whilst away from home. Jeremy is working hard at his schoolwork, piano, and filling the gaps his brothers have left. Mary Beth is a happy mom with our dog at her side. She is a great support, especially organizing events like Holiday Bible Club. It’s busy in the Lord’s work, and it is all possible because of you who faithfully pray and support our ministry over here. You are such a blessing that it makes us work harder in His service. God bless you over the summer months!

Yours for souls,
