Courtney and Ester Godsoe Prayer Letter: Church Growth Through Soul Winning, Discipling, and Personal MentoringWe praise the Lord for so many opportunities to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for our church members who are excited about soul winning. During the first quarter of 2023, we saw 1,056 precious souls trust Christ as Saviour. As we share the plan of salvation, we try to help people grow in the grace of God by discipleship and personal mentoring. It’s such a joy to see new Christians become faithful and to see them share the Gospel as well.

Ester and I got news that her older brother Abraham, who lives in Seattle, Washington, had terminal cancer. I had only briefly seen him a couple of times in the more than 43 years that Ester and I have been married. I told Ester that she needed to go see her brother, and we decided we both should go. We were able to spend some quality time with him, his children, and their families. Praise the Lord, I was also able to share the Gospel with him, and he trusted Christ as Saviour! He is still alive, and we don’t know how much longer he has, but it is very comforting to know that he is saved.

Over 40 of our people were able to attend the Asia Spiritual Leadership Conference, hosted by Pastor Paul Chapel and other pastors from the States. Our folks were encouraged and inspired by the preaching and teaching.

For the past several months, a lay worker from another church, who is a black belt in karate, has been teaching our young people karate each week. This has been a motivation for them, as the instructor has set strict standards for Christian faithfulness in order for them to attend.

We had our annual Sweetheart Couples’ Banquet at our church in March. In the past, we would normally go all out and prepare a lot of food and charge a nominal fee from the attendees to help cover the expenses. This year, we had been so busy that we decided just to do it potluck style. It was a blessing and an encouragement to the couples who attended. It was a much simpler affair than we have had in the past, but I think it was one of the nicest banquets we have had.

We are very grateful for your prayers and financial sacrifice for all these years to keep us in this bountiful harvest field. Only eternity will tell of the fruit that your sacrifice has brought.

Yours for souls,
Courtney & Ester Godsoe
