Chris Sage Prayer Letter: New Church Plant Doing WellThank you for your prayers and consistent faithful support over the past two months. The Lord has done some wonderful things!

The new church has had many visitors. We have had an average attendance of 15-20 per service, including the midweek service. We made an expansion of meeting space and started a Bible Club program in a nearby park on Saturday mornings.

The Lord is now leading us to start another church in Tizapan, a city near one of our children’s homes on Lake Chapala, with about 60,000 people and no Gospel-preaching church at all. Someone in the area has offered to pay for six months’ rent of a meeting place to get the church started. Please pray for the start of this new church.

During our 25th Anniversary Conference in May, we had 9 teenagers and adults surrender to lead a Discipleship Bible Study. We have started training for them on Saturday afternoons with the hope of developing a church-planting team. They have also gone out soul winning with the new church plant on Saturday evenings, along with others from the home-church family.

We had a program for our Tuesday night soul-winning group that centered on being thorough with the Gospel and bringing converts to church. During our 4-week emphasis, the Lord gave us 21 first-time visitors to church and 2 baptisms. Ramiro has continued to attend faithfully and has also begun to go soul winning. He brought 9 first-time visitors from his family during the program!

I also had the privilege of baptizing 4 of our kids in Pastor Murillo’s absence. He has not had a furlough in six years and will be gone until November. Please pray that things will go well in his absence. We have a very capable team, but we need the Lord’s help for each of us to do our part to fill in while Bro. Murillo is not here.

Again, thank you very much for your prayers. Please pray for the growth of the church during Pastor’s furlough, the new church plants and team training, the soul-winning groups and Bus Ministry outreach, my teaching and preaching in Spanish, the growth and healing for those in our children’s home, and the finances for our children’s home. I also will be preaching at a Bible conference in Mexico in July.

Yours for souls,

Chris Sage
