The Lord got us off to a wonderful start with our summer team in the small town of Jaral on June 5. The Lord has given 8 Bible college students who have given their lives to serve the Lord in this new church plant this summer. As of the date of this letter, the Lord has given us 438 people saved, 59 first-time visitors in church, and 4 baptisms. He has also given us 5 people who have been attending that have become soul winners. Several of the teenagers are also excited about camp in July.
This is not a mass-evangelism campaign. It is the old-time, door-to-door soul winning, visiting, and discipleship method of church building that we see in the book of Acts. By the grace of the Lord, we have been out soul winning over 300 hours a week, and when someone is open to a return visit and discipleship, we schedule that at the best time for that person. There has been a good response of people coming to church.
It usually takes three to five years to get a new church on its feet in Mexico. By the grace of God and with your prayers, we hope to shorten that to a year or less. There is still a lot of Catholic and family pride against a New Testament church, but the Lord is working. Thank you very much for your prayers!
One Saturday during our soul winning, one of our young ladies spent a good amount of time sharing the Gospel with and pleading with a 23-year-old young lady to be saved. It was about 20 minutes later that she was shot to death in a gang-related assassination. The family was understandably shaken, and some of them have been attending since.

El Señor nos llevó a un comienzo maravilloso con nuestro equipo de verano en la pequeña ciudad de Jaral el 5 de junio. El Señor ha dado 8 estudiantes universitarios bíblicos que han dado sus vidas para servir al Señor en esta nueva iglesia este verano. A la fecha de esta carta, el Señor nos ha dado 438 personas salvas, 59 visitantes por primera vez en la iglesia y 4 bautismos. También nos ha dado 5 personas que han estado asistiendo que se han convertido en ganadores de almas. Varios de los adolescentes también están entusiasmados con el campamento en julio.
Esta no es una campaña de evangelismo masivo. Es el antiguo método de puerta a puerta para ganar almas, visitar y discipular de la edificacion de una iglesia que vemos en el libro de Hechos. Por la gracia del Señor, hemos estado ganando almas más de 300 horas a la semana, y cuando alguien está abierto a una visita de regreso y discipulado, lo programamos en el mejor momento para esa persona. Ha habido una buena respuesta de las personas que vienen a la iglesia.
Por lo general, toma de tres a cinco años poner en pie una nueva iglesia en México. Por la gracia de Dios y con sus oraciones, esperamos acortar eso a un año o menos. Todavía hay mucho orgullo católico y familiar contra una iglesia del Nuevo Testamento, pero el Señor está obrando. ¡Muchas gracias por sus oraciones!
Un sábado, durante nuestra ganar almas, una de nuestras señoritas pasó una buena cantidad de tiempo compartiendo el Evangelio y suplicando a una joven de 23 años que fuera salva. Fue unos 20 minutos después que fue matado a tiros en un asesinato relacionado con pandillas. La familia estaba comprensiblemente conmocionada, y algunos de ellos han estado asistiendo desde entonces.
