Charles Osgood Prayer Letter: More Souls Turning to the Lord!Thank you for your prayers and support!

Soul Winning and Discipleship

During the last few months of Coronavirus restrictions, my wife and have been focusing our soul-winning efforts on reaching those who live in our neighborhood. In April, I was able to lead our neighbor Thelma and her 14-year-old son Simon to Christ. We have worked through three discipleship lessons together.
We just finished the lesson on baptism. It was such a blessing to see them both follow the Lord in baptism this past Sunday! They have come to church for several weeks now. Please pray that they will continue to grow and be disciples of Christ.

On June 13 while we were soul winning in the village of Kumi, a village of about 700 people located a few miles from our church in Barekuma, we were able to meet a young man named Bernard, who had been street preaching. He was attending the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. My soul-winning partner was able to lead Bernard to Christ. He was very open to the Gospel. He has since attended our church in Barekuma several times, and he has been faithful to go soul winning with us. He has taken us to many of his friends and family to preach the Gospel to them. Please pray for Bernard to become a soul winner and a faithful servant of the Lord. Also, please pray for the people who live in Kumi to be saved and turn to the Lord.

We are currently seeking permission to go soul winning and do discipleship with the inmates of a prison located about five miles from our church. I have met with the chaplain, and he seems very receptive to us. Please pray for God to open this door for us to reach the men in this prison. There are about 200 men currently in this prison.

Current Situation Due to Coronavirus Restrictions

Over the past several months, government restrictions have kept our church from gathering in its entirety in one place. We are excited now to be meeting all together again. We still need to practice social distancing and wear face masks; however, we are so glad to be able to assemble together all in the same place once again.

Senior Pastors’ Seminar

We had to cancel our normal Pastors’ and Workers’ Conference this year because of Coronavirus restrictions. However, we are hosting a Senior Pastors’ Seminar in its place. We have about 100 pastors and assistant pastors who are planning to come. The seminar will be August 11-13. Our theme is “Exposing False and Cult Teachings.” Please pray that God will use us to help those who attend the seminar to be more effective in their service for Christ.

God is working in the hearts and lives of many here in Ghana. We are seeing many souls saved and many people growing in the Lord. Thank you for partnering with us to help us do our Lord’s work here in Ghana. May the Lord bless you for your sacrifice.

In Christ,

Charles, Lindsey, and Josiah Osgood
