Brian Hebert Prayer Letter: Through Blizzard and SnowWe have just recently gone through a very cold and snowy month of deputation. For most of the month, we saw either snow on the ground or bitterly cold temperatures; sometimes we had both. Yet through it all, God’s hand of protection was on us. We had some scary moments but no wrecks or injuries. I want to thank all who pray for our safety as we travel, because there were plenty of opportunities for dangerous road conditions to do us great harm.

Our old stomping grounds in the Chicagoland area welcomed us back on the first day of February with a blizzard. This just happened to be the beginning of a four-day missions conference at Northwest Bible Baptist Church in Elgin, Illinois! During the first couple of days of the conference, we had some very careful, white-knuckled driving due to high winds and very slick roads. The conference was every bit worth the drive though. I got to teach Sunday school to some dear people who spoiled us with gifts of fine chocolate and a delicious assorted nut tin. I presented our work at Providence Baptist College that week to an amazing group of college students who are eager to take their place in God’s harvest. We really enjoyed our time there, allowing the college students to ask us questions about our field and our calling. We also got to see my good friend Doc Peters who used to teach me Sunday school when I was just a bus kid going to St. Amant Baptist Church in Louisiana. He is now the Dean of Men at Providence.

We were blessed to move on to Wisconsin for a meeting with Pastor Andy Doll at Bible Baptist Church in Prairie Du Chien. It was a joy going out on bus visitation and then preaching for him on Sunday night. From Wisconsin we headed to Greenwood, Indiana, to present our work to Greenwood Bible Baptist with Pastor Todd Poynter. It was so interesting to find out that Mrs. Poynter was born in Canada not far from Toronto. In fact, there were a few more families in the church that were born and raised near Toronto. Afterwards, with snow falling on us again, we headed to West Virginia for a few other meetings. We hardly made it to Salem to be with Pastor John Freeman and the Lighthouse Baptist Church before the next big winter storm came down on us. Though the snow hit us hard, we had a lovely meeting. We stayed in West Virginia for nearly a week and a half to meet other pastors in the area and to set up future meetings. As a result of that effort, we should be picking up a couple of new meetings for later dates.

Please continue to pray for safety during our travels and that we will raise our support soon. We long to get for the work in Toronto. Pray for laborers who will join us in reaching the “World in a City,” Toronto, Canada. God be with you till we meet again.

Thanks to Calvary,

Brian Hebert
