Brandon Heselschwerdt Prayer Letter: A Time of ThanksgivingWhen we think of the month of November, most of us think of Thanksgiving and a time to reflect upon all that we’re thankful for, so that is exactly what we want to do for this month’s prayer letter. We simply want to thank the Lord for what He has done in and through us over this past month. In I Thessalonians 5:18 it simply says, “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Here are a few things from this past month that we thank the Lord for and the work He is doing.

We thank the Lord for the safe travels He has blessed us with, as we have traveled not only across Michigan now, but we have also ventured into the great state of Ohio. We’re thankful for the meetings we’ve had to present the need for the Gospel in Kenya. We also want to praise God for Community Baptist Church and Bible Baptist Church for partnering alongside us in the Lord’s work.

We are thankful for the opportunity to go out and share the Gospel at the last Michigan State University football game. We were able to hand out many tracts to those tailgating and going into the game. Please pray that many of these souls will come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through His Word from these Gospel tracts. While at the game, I also had the chance to witness to two young men. They had a hard time getting over the fact that they did not have to pray over and over again for their salvation, but after going over the Scriptures with them for some time, they were able to get past it and trust Christ completely. Amen! We’re also thankful for one gentleman who raised his hand in profession of faith during an invitation time while I was preaching during a Sunday morning service.

Lastly, we’re very thankful for the way the Lord is allowing us to be used in my grandma’s life. She came to trust Christ as her personal Saviour while I was preaching my grandpa’s funeral on New Year’s Day. Since then we have tried to encourage her to start reading the Bible and attending church but have had little success. We have been praying about it and looking for a way to get her into God’s Word to help her grow spiritually. Just this month God opened that door, and we’re excited to share that she is beginning to grow in the Lord and is showing interest as well. Praise God! All this is due to the discipleship booklets from First Baptist Church of Hammond. Each week we have been giving her one of the booklets to read through and have been answering any questions she has. God has also brought an old friend of hers back into contact with her; this friend is a born-again Christian and has been answering many questions for her as well. It’s been a blessing to see my grandma begin to grow in the Lord, and we ask you to pray that she would continue to have a desire to grow in Christ.

We are so blessed beyond measure! Thank you to all who continue to pray for our family as God uses us and as we make our journey to East Africa. God bless you.

Your co-labourers for lost souls in East Africa,
