Baraka and Melanie Hall Prayer Letter: By God's Grace“O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good; for His mercy endureth for ever.” (I Chronicles 16:34) “By God’s grace” and “We give thanks to God” are phrases we hear often here in Ghana, and sadly, they have become cliché. I try not to fall into this trap, as it is an expected response in many situations. It is my desire for my family and our church to truly reflect daily on the goodness of God. However, wrapping up this quarter, and it being at the end of November, it seems fitting to do just that.

By God’s grace, as stated before, we have expanded our team at Hope Fundamental Baptist Church for the Deaf. We have added two additional staff members and now have a staff of four men. This was done only by God’s grace. All four of these men had been faithful to every service and served voluntarily within the church. I am grateful for the opportunity to teach and train these men for God’s work on a daily basis. It’s by God’s grace that they are now preaching or teaching every week alongside me. They have a long way to go, but we praise God for the extra measure of spiritual understanding He gives them. Remember, English is not their first language, and it is with much difficulty that they strive to read and understand God’s Word. I sincerely beg you to pray for these men. I have posted a video update introducing these men on our website: https://www.fbmi.org/missionary/hall.

As we are closing up this year, we give thanks to God for our church building. As you recall, we began renting this property on January 1, 2021. After much building and many repairs, we moved in on Easter Sunday. We praise God for all the people who came alongside us to work on this project. It was a serious undertaking and could not be done alone. Our Team Ghana leader, Pastor Ted Speer, loaned us his staff men to build our facility. These men also helped us in finding skilled laborers to do repairs on the office building and to build our baptistry. Our Deaf members and staff have worked every week beautifying the property. By God’s grace, we have a fully functioning, beautiful church property. We ask your prayers for God to work on the landlord’s heart to sell this property to us. It is a prime location, easy to be found, centrally located, and a hop, skip, and jump away from our team’s church.

We thank God for the many, many souls who have put their faith in Christ this quarter. It has been an absolute joy watching God use our staff men and church members share the Gospel and bring visitors to church. For instance, Afua Asantewaa, one of our faithful ladies, shared with us that her husband worked with several other Deaf, and they had not heard the Gospel. I was able to take my staff men and Afua there and share the Gospel. Two men trusted Christ as their Saviour.

Finally, we give thanks to God always for you. Thank you for your continued prayers and support for our family. We wish you the happiest of holidays.

Your co-laborers for Christ,

Rocky, Melanie, Rocky II, Malachi, Tyler, and Marissa Hall
