Tommy and Emily Ashcraft Prayer LetterThank you for praying for us. It has never been more vital that you pray for your missionaries, especially in view of the chaotic condition of the world in which we all live and work. We believe that the events in the Middle East are a visible sign of the soon coming of Christ. This should make all of us reinforce our efforts in getting the Gospel out.
Since our last letter, we have been in 12 churches. You can see from the text box that our schedule is full. We thank God for His protection and provision as we minister in these churches. Most of them are Missions Conferences and conferences for pastors and Christian workers.

There are 18,500 dwellings in Santiago, the county where Mount Hebron Baptist Church is located. Pastor Jonathan has challenged the church to knock on every one of these doors. He scheduled a door-knocking campaign for October 3-7. We were able to visit 6,500 of these houses in those 5 days. I went out on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. I took my grandson, Jonathan Jr., on Tuesday night. We knocked on 21 doors, and 2 men trusted Christ as Saviour. On Thursday night, I went with one of the church members, Bro. Narciso Bautista. We knocked on 18 doors and had 3 people saved. It was pouring down rain, but we managed to get through the 3 hours with no problems.

This week, we are in a Missions Conference in Saltillo, Coahuila, about two hours from home. All of the six missionaries who are presenting are Mexican nationals. One of them, Bro. Jose Luis Mora, just returned from his survey trip to Egypt. Our church helped finance his trip. As far as we know, he will be the first independent Baptist missionary to Egypt from Latin America.

God has moved in many churches in Mexico to have a worldwide vision. This is a recent development. Please pray that God will use us to help sustain this recent movement. Our graduates, many of whom you have helped to train, are in 18 countries outside of Mexico. Thank you for whatever part you have had in making it possible for us to prepare them to minister in their respective fields.

SPECIAL PRAYER REQUEST

Please continue to pray for the recovery of ministry property that is under litigation. Criminal elements are attempting to seize property that has been provided by the sacrificial giving of God’s people. We have had some positive developments recently and are confident that we will be able to retain or regain a large portion of this very valuable real estate. A great deal of money is still needed to settle this issue. Please pray for God’s provision of this urgent need.

Thank you again for praying for us. We want God to use us to challenge and equip His people in the furtherance of the Gospel.

Yours for souls,

Bro. Tommy and Emily Ashcraft
