Andrew and Denise Long Prayer Letter: Oh That Men Would Praise the Lord“Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” (Psalm 107:8) Praise the LORD for His goodness and for His wonderful works!!!!

One of the churches in India was able to purchase land, and they are praying to be able to build a building. They have been meeting in the pastor’s house, but he is being required to move out due to the selling of the house. They had outgrown the house and could no longer fit everyone inside anymore. Many have come to Christ in these last few months and are wanting to learn more. There have been 60-plus meeting in the small house every week, but some do not come because there isn’t room. There are new families coming to Christ almost weekly. Please keep Pastor Nam and the church in your prayers. This is one of two independent Baptist churches known to be in this city of over a half-million people.

On March 16, one of my nephews, age 22, had a tragic death. We went to the funeral, and our youngest son Gideon was playing his violin as someone was singing about Heaven. Gideon began to cry greatly when the song spoke of seeing the loved one again in Heaven. Then the preacher came and, as the family requested, brought a powerful Gospel message. After the message, we bowed our heads for prayer, and Gideon jumped up, grabbed my arm, and pulled me into the aisle and out the front door. When we cleared the door, with great tears rolling down his face, he said “Daddy, I need to get saved!” To which I replied, “Jesus is listening, Son.” He grabbed me around the neck as he cried out to the Lord Jesus for salvation. Glory!!!!

Tu and Oy say that everyone at the church plant in Chom Thong is doing well. They also say that they are faithfully reading their Bibles and praying every day.

Denise has had a great struggle taking medications that are supposed to help with fighting cancer and the prevention of it reoccurring, most of which the doctors have given up on. So, they did surgery to accomplish much of the same results the medication would have done. Truthfully, it has been like riding a roller coaster. She is now having difficulty with her breathing. At first, they thought it might be her heart or clogged arteries, but now, after testing, they have ruled both out. While scanning the heart and arteries, the scan revealed a lot of spots on her lungs that were not there in previous scans. She is scheduled to see a pulmonologist. Please keep her in your prayers!

Thank you for all your faithful prayers and support!

Yours for His harvest,

Andrew Long
