Andres and Dora Amoros Prayer Letter: Missions and Evangelism

With all my heart, I wish that the blessings of our great God would continue to pour out on each one of you. By the grace of the Lord, we were able to celebrate our annual conference, “Missions Through the Local Church.” This year, we had the largest attendance of missionaries, pastors, and leaders in all the years we have celebrated it; more than 15 local churches were represented. Pastor Daniel Cerda from the Arkansas Baptist Church came to preach to us.

We praise God for everything learned and for the good spirit and decisions that were made during the conference this year. Extending our missionary outreach program, we have decided to support and invest in one of our brothers who will be dedicating himself to taking the message of Christ to the prisons of the country. Please pray that God would protect Brother Luis and that many prisoners would accept the Lord as their Saviour and be transformed with the power of the word of God.

The past months have been characterized by an unusual increase in temperature throughout the island. Despite that, we were able to have our first great evangelistic program, where I involved the entire church in bringing visitors to hear the message of salvation. Since our last letter, we have had 46 souls saved. Despite the intense heat and burning sun of the Caribbean, there are always some who keep preaching the Gospel house by house to fulfill the mandate of the Great Commission.

One of the great blessings that my wife and I received in these past months was the ordination of our youngest son, Caleb Josías, as an evangelist. He was born when I was a student at Hyles-Anderson College, and now he had been ordained under the ministry of First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana, the church where he was born. In June, Caleb came to the Dominican Republic with his pastor, John Wilkerson, and other pastors and brothers. They came to preach in several churches. Hundreds of young people, children, and adults were saved, according to the report they gave us. It is a great satisfaction to see our children serving the Lord in the ministry. Glory to God!

I beg you all to pray for consolation for my beloved wife. Her father was diagnosed with cancer, and we had to travel urgently to Honduras, Central America, to find him alive. We were able to spend a week with him before he died. The Lord is good and merciful. I led him to the Lord years ago. I also had the honor of preaching in the funeral home and in the cemetery, where some were saved. Praise the Lord for the hope of eternal life.

3. Pray for new believers to growth in faith.
4. Pray that the Lord would use our son, Caleb Josías, with great power.

De todo corazón le deseo que las bendiciones de nuestro gran Dios, se sigan derramando sobre cada uno de ustedes. Por la gracia del Señor, pudimos celebrar nuestra Conferencia anual ¨Misiones a través de la Iglesia Local¨ este año tuvimos la mayor asistencia de Misioneros, Pastores y lideres, en todos los años que la hemos celebrado, mas de 15 iglesias locales estuvieron representadas. El Pastor Daniel Cerda, de la Iglesia Bautista de Arkansas vino a predicarnos.

Alabamos a Dios por todo lo aprendido y por el buen espíritu y las decisiones que se tomaron durante la conferencia en este año. Extendiendo nuestro programa de alcance misionero, hemos decidido sostener e invertir en uno de nuestros hermanos quien se estará dedicando a llevar el mensaje a las cárceles del país, por favor de orar por el Hno. Luis, para que Dios lo proteja y muchos presos acepten al Señor como su Salvador, y sean transformados con el poder de la palabra de Dios.

Los meses pasados se han caracterizado por un aumento inusual de la temperatura, en toda la isla, a pesar de eso pudimos tener nuestro primer gran programa evangelistico, donde envuelvo a toda la iglesia para traer visitantes para que escuchen el mensaje de salvación. Desde nuestra última carta hemos tenido 46 almas salvas, a pesar del intenso calor y candente sol del Caribe, siempre hay algunos que se mantienen predicando el evangelio, casa por casa para cumplir el mandato de la gran comisión.

Una de las grandes bendiciones que mi esposa y yo recibimos en estos meses fue la ordenación como Evangelista, de nuestro hijo menor Caleb Josías, quien nació cuando yo estudiaba en Hyles Anderson College, y ahora es ordenado bajo el ministerio de La Primera Iglesia Bautista de Hammond, Indiana, iglesia que lo vio nacer. El mes de Junio Caleb, vino a la Republica Dominicana, con nuestro Pastor John Wilkerson, y otros Pastores y hermanos llegando a predicar en 8 iglesias, cientos de jóvenes, niños, y adultos, fueron salvos según el reporte que nos dieron. Es una gran satisfacción ver a nuestros hijos sirviendo al Señor en el ministerio. Gloria a Dios.

Les ruego a todos orar por consolación por mi amada esposa, su padre fue diagnosticado con cáncer y tuvimos que viajar de emergencia a Honduras, Centro América, para poder encontrarlo con vida, pudimos estar una semana con él antes de morir. El Señor es bueno y misericordioso, yo mismo lo conduje al Señor años atrás, también tuve el honor de predicar en la funeraria y en el cementerio, donde algunos fueron salvos. Gloria Dios, por la esperanza de la vida eterna.

1. Favor orar por nuestra salud.
2. Por sabiduría en nuestro ministerio.
3. Por los nuevos creyentes, su crecimiento en la fe.
4. Por mi hijo Caleb Josías, que el Señor lo use con poder.
