With great pleasure and spiritual joy, we communicate with you to inform you of the development of God’s work in the Dominican Republic. You have been spiritual columns over the years for us, so we thank the Lord for it, while we pray that the God of all grace and love reward each one of you in a special way.
The first months of this year have passed without any change in the political development of the nation, but in the spiritual order, there is an unprecedented deterioration. Recently I’ve notice a large increase in the consumption of drugs and, sadly, an increase of the cult of voodoo (the religion from the neighboring country of Haiti) and a considerable growth of Muslims and Mormons. This fact has challenged us to be more aggressive in our soul-winning efforts. Currently I am teaching a soul-winning course to the whole church in our Sunday school.
In the area where the church meets, the Devil’s opposition by people who do not want the church has grown considerably. We had to call 911 several times because some want to get drunk, get high, and listen music at high decibels next to our church building, preventing our meetings and invading our space and parking lot. Brothers, I understand that the Devil has declared war on us, so we’re fighting more firmly. We are praying more, preaching more, winning more lost, growing more in the area of missions, training more workers, and willing to do more for God.
Please pray specifically for this fierce opposition of evil.
I would like to take this opportunity to ask you to pray for several new believers whom we won for Christ in jail and are now released: Ruben, Sandy, and Juan. Ruben’s wife has been attending church for almost two years; they have three beautiful children. Sandy is attending church also, but Juan has not visited us, even though we have giving him the pastoral care that he needs. Another fellow is Jorge, who was recently deported from the United States; his wife and three children have been attending our church for almost three years. As soon he came from the States, I personally led him to the Lord; now he is thinking about getting baptized. We are talking about 12 people whom the Lord graciously allowed us to lead to our precious Saviour, who now need to grow and flourish in the Gospel. Some of them have already been baptized. We have reached 114 people with the Gospel during our soul-winning time during the last three months. Glory to God!
In the family order, please pray for my father, who suffered a stroke. I had to rush him to the ER. Thanks be to God, he is feeling much better now! The last month I have had to live between my parents’ house in San Pedro de Macoris and my home in Santo Domingo, helping him with his recovery, yet God is always good; He does not change. He has given me strength to be productive in His work and be a son who honors his parents. My father is nearly 80 years old.
Again, thank you from my heart for your commitment to the cause of our God; your financial support is an evidence of your love to our beloved Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Whom we honor forever.

1. Please pray for the Spring Program throughout the month of April.
2. Pray for my parents’ health: Hugo and Catalina Amoros.
3. Pray for new believers: Jose, Sandy, Jorge, and Ruben and their families.
4. Continue praying for another location for the church.

Con grato placer y gozo espiritual nos comunicamos con ustedes para hacerles participe del desarrollo de la obra de Dios en La Republica Dominicana. Ustedes han sido columnas espirituales a través de los años para nosotros, por lo cual damos gracias al Señor, y a la vez rogamos que el Dios de toda gracia, y consolación les remunere de una manera especial.
Los primeros meses de este año han transcurrido sin muchos cambios en lo político y económico de la nación. En el orden espiritual si hay un deterioro sin precedentes, recientemente he observado un gran aumento del consumo de drogas, prostitución, y tristemente un aumento de cultos del vudú, (la religión del vecino país de Haití), y un considerable crecimiento de los musulmanes y de los mormones. Eso nos ha retado a ser más agresivos en nuestro trabajo evangelistico. En la actualidad casino estoy dando un curso de ganar almas a toda la iglesia.
En los predios donde se reúne la iglesia, la oposición diabólica por personas que no quieren la iglesia ha aumentado considerablemente. Hemos tenido que llamar al 911 varias veces porque algunos quieren embriagarse, endrogarse, y poner música a altos decídeles al lado del local de la iglesia impidiendo nuestras reuniones e invadiendo nuestro espacio y estacionamientos.
Hermanos yo he entendido que el diablo, nos ha declarado la guerra, por eso lo estamos combatiendo con más firmeza. Estamos orando mas, predicando, ganando los perdidos, creciendo en el área misionera, entrenando obreros, y con deseos de hacer más para Dios. Favor de orar específicamente por esta feroz oposición del maligno.
Aprovecho la ocasión para rogarles orar por varios nuevos creyentes que ganamos para Cristo en la cárcel, y ahora se encuentran en libertad. Orar por Rubén, ganamos a su esposa y sus 3 hijas para Cristo. El otro recientemente llego al país deportado de Estados Unidos, su nombre es Jorge, parte de su familia la hemos conducido al Señor, y por dos jóvenes llamados Sandy y Juan, los cuales también cumplieron su condena y fueron puestos en libertad. Sandy está congregándose y Juan todavía no nos ha visitado, pese a que le hemos dado el cuidado pastoral que necesita. Estamos hablando de 12 personas que el Señor en su gracia nos ha permitido dirigir a nuestro precioso Salvador, los cuales ahora necesitan crecer y afirmarse en el evangelio. Algunos de ellos se han bautizado. Un total de 114 personas hemos alcanzado con el evangelio durante estos meses. Gloria a Dios!
En el orden familiar, favor de orar por mi padre el cual sufrió un derrame cerebral, tuve que internarlo de urgencia en una clínica en San Pedro de Macorís, el último mes he tenido que vivir entre la casa de mis padres y la capital, ayudando en su recuperación; a pesar de todo Dios siempre es bueno, el no cambia. Él me ha dado fuerzas para ser productivo en su obra y ser un hijo que honra a sus padres. Mi padre tiene casi 80 años.
De nuevo gracias de corazón por su compromiso con la causa de nuestro Dios; su sostén financiero es una evidencia de su amor por la causa de nuestro amado Señor y gran Dios Jesucristo a quien honramos por siempre.

- Por favor orar por el programa de Primavera, durante todo el mes de Abril.
- Orar por la salud de mis padres; Hugo y Catalina Amorós.
- Orar por nuevos creyentes, Rubén, Jorge, Sandy, y sus familias.
