  • Missionary #6505 Prayer Letter: Major Updates in Turkey, Morocco, and the U.S.Exploring A Call: An Assistant Pastor at Colosse Baptist Church in Turkey

I have worked with Pastor M___ for over three years and have watched the Lord bless this man and his family greatly! By providential means, God has moved them out of their old church facility into a MUCH larger building. He and his wife have worked tirelessly to help the Persian refugees in their church become anchored in their new Christian faith. It has been apparent for some time that M___ needs a full-time assistant to serve by his side and share the burden so he can love his family. M___, a Persian Christian of like faith in Australia, has expressed interest in joining me in Turkey to experience the work, translate in a conference (he is skilled in English), and ask God if he could relocate and join M___ at the church! M___ is a man of God, trained under K___ P___, M___ G___, and, more recently, myself. He is a solid, independent, fundamental Baptist. We are raising money for a plane ticket from Australia to Turkey, with travel plans for late August/early September. The complete cost would be approximately $4,000. We have $1,500 pledged so far. Any designated giving (“M___/Turkey”) to that need would be greatly appreciated and could do much to spread the Gospel in the Middle East! Thank you for your prayerful consideration.

    Updates From Morocco

We are averaging over 1,000 visits per month to our radio station and apologetics at morningstarmorocco.com. M___ has served faithfully with me over the past 5 years. Together, we are helping a convert named S___, a 25-year-old man from central Morocco. He is a sold-out, born-again believer (he was kicked out of the Moroccan military for evangelizing other soldiers). Then, he lost a good-paying job for being a Christian, which prompted his embarrassed family to disown him. S___ was without a job or home, so we took him on for financial support. M___ and a Baptist pastor in Casablanca relocated him to another city, where he is trying to find a job. There is a good church that has taken him in. This is a common hardship for Christians in Morocco; often, it is much worse.

    PRAYER REQUESTS

    • I have been able to reach five people for Christ in local soul winning; please pray for K___, T___, M___, T___, and N___—all young men who very eagerly trusted Christ.
    • Please pray for A___ and M___, two Moroccan seekers who have been studying with M___.
    • Please pray for my children: J___ (a sophomore at P___ Baptist College) and A___ (a freshman at H___-A___ College) as they serve the Lord with their lives.
