Missionary #6004 Prayer Letter: “Trust Ye in the Lord For Ever.”

Missionary #6004 Prayer Letter: "Trust Ye in the Lord For Ever."“Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength” (Isaiah 26:4)

Looking toward the coming fall, I am excited to see what God will do. There are no better words to memorize in this world than the words, “Trust ye in the Lord for ever.” As our oldest prepares for college, she needs to trust in the Lord. As we travel to raise the last 10-20% of our support, we need to trust in the Lord. As we prepare our paperwork to get the visas we need to return to China, we need to trust in the Lord. The lost we meet along the way and the hundreds of millions still waiting in China to hear about Jesus need to trust in the Lord.

E___ finished her classes and graduated in July. Lord willing, she will be heading to Hyles-Anderson College this fall. She has been looking forward to going back to China for the last few years, so it has been a bit of a struggle for her to adjust her thinking on the matter. We would appreciate any prayers made for her and her adjustment to college life.

The Lord has continued to bless us with opportunities to share the good news of Jesus with those who need to hear. I met Mr. Peirre-pierre in a grocery store parking lot and had the privilege of introducing him to Jesus. I also had a reminder of the influences of Communism on our country a few weeks ago. I was on a street passing out tracts when I noticed a young man, Arturo, sitting in front of a City Health and Wellness building. I felt urged to go give him a tract and share the Gospel. As I walked his way, he stood up from the bench near the door and walked out to the edge of the sidewalk. I reached him about that time and gave him the tract. We began talking, and I was about three-quarters of the way through the Gospel when the government security guard came out and asked what I was doing. I kind of stared blankly and thinking, how do I tell this guy to leave us alone. I then just told him straight out that I was talking to this man about the Bible. He came closer and tried to look confrontational while asking again what I was doing. Arturo showed him the tract and told him, “We are talking about the Bible!” The guard stopped, looked, and then said “Oh, okay, as long as you are wanting to talk about it, but you be careful.” Then he went and stood staring from the doorway as we finished. Arturo prayed and asked Christ to save him. As I left, the guard watched until I was gone. It is incomprehensible that in THIS country there are some law enforcement officers telling people to “BE CAREFUL” of the Bible! In the following weeks the Lord led me to Ronald and Herman, who both decided to trust Christ.

What a blessing it is to have a godly wife. As busy as she stays, S___ has been able to share the Gospel with many people. One couple she met at the park. Gloria and Kevin were unsure about their eternal home. S___ was able to lead them through the Gospel, and both decided to trust Jesus. Also, through a mutual acquaintance, she met with a Chinese lady in Northwest Indiana. Though the lady had been very resistant to hearing the Gospel in the past, S___ was able to help her hear a clear presentation of the Gospel using things we have learned about the culture while in China. Please pray that this lady would accept Christ soon. Keep praying for wisdom to be able to maintain S___’s back issues, as we are getting closer to leaving.

Bound to His service,
